So I've been using the DCP-18000 for about a day and a half now, some thoughts on it for those looking for a basement pump. If your tank has any size to it I would keep looking.
Full disclosure, this is a FW system. I have a 1200 gal pond in my basement, then a 150 gal on the first floor. Pond is more or less acting as a large sump for the 150. Pump is moving water up about 5', over 5', then finally up 6' where it is split into two returns. The pump's largest fitting is a 1.5" slip, so I used that then up sized it to 2" for the return pipe.
I don't think it is moving as much water as I had originally thought. I had set the pond to 78*, after about 12 hours the 150 gal was only at 76*. I bumped the pond up to 80*, tank only rose to 77* overnight.
I know this isn't a great indicator of flow, however prior to this I was using a hammerhead (which also fed several other things). Water always was the same exact temp, overflows also had trouble keeping up unless the valves were nearly fully open. Now the overflow is silent, which I'm happy about but it indicates to me not much water is flowing through them.
So those are my thoughts on the bigger pump. It is a solid feeling pump, the controller is even nicer than the smaller units and price isn't bad, but I don't think it'll handle anywhere near the head they claim.
I received my 6500 last night and hard plumbed it in. It's in my basement pushing I'd say around 9' vertical and horizontal through 3/4. First impressions were that I couldn't believe it was on and pumping as it is so completely silent. To the poster who says he hears it throughout his entire house and has had it replaced, maybe check your plumbing or something, as this thing is dead silent. It barely can be felt 5 inches above on the plumbing, and like others have said, I have to put my ear to the sump to hear it. My mj1200 or whatever comes with the brs duel reactor is much louder, and it's quiet too. I have the 6500 set to about 78% and it has already exceeded my expectations. My basement fish room is a work in progress so excuse the mess.

Do these pumps still have the slow start up feature of the prior generation Jebao DC pumps? Doing a little research on pumps for a Lifereef 24 skimmer. Any info is much appreciated.
