Jebo 520 skimmer thread.

I bought the WP4 and the roloc white yesterday. Waiting for delivery, Roloc white looked more like the real thing.

Yes, RF Don W, needle wheel. 2 questions; 1 do u really cut w th compound on the kithchen table, 2 Do u drink the Bud next to the toaster oven or the bottled beer in the foreground

Yes, I really used the saw on the table. Although I didn't use it while it was on the table :) . I don't drink no stinking Bud! That is Snowcap! MM MMMM yummy!

Tim the toolman would be proud. If I could spell that man sound, I would. If my girl wiould let me put the miter saw on the table I would. And I would put the acrylic shavings on the pasta. Who'd know the dif?

My wife puts up with my hobby ( not an accurate description ) bless her heart. Yeah, Washington on the Pacific . Cold out here tonight!

It would be great if you post how you mod the Roloc to the wp4 impellor. I'de like to try it and see if it is any better than the 9000 NW.

Yeah 2" ROLOC. With the WP4 ($40 W/ sh) and roloc $10 W /sh, its worth a try. Its equivalent of sed 5 or Oc 3500/900gph. WP4 900gph and Ive heard the venturi pulls hard. Gph is a little high FOR SED 5 but throttle is always an options

COLD, Im in western MA, 0 degrees last night , 14" snow today in 7 hours. Dumped. whats thje gph on the 5000 and 9000

Definitely, im just looking at base #s. My stuff should be here on Tue/Wed, I'll post and let u know. Idont think it will beat the 9000 but could be a $50 alternative. Dollars count

I just got my 520 yesterday and have a few ideas. To have a nice recirculating time you want to put through about 1 gallon per minute. At that flow rate you should be able to use the opening on the top of the skimmer (that feeds the venturi) for a water inlet. The other idea is to build a wetneck and have the same flow rate.

As far as hooking up the pump and makeing it recirculating I am not so sure. I am going to order a Genx pump today. My ideas so far is to simply connect the inlet and outlet up directly to each other with a T at the outlet connected to a riser tube. Depending on the microbubbles I would have a open T at the top and another tube acting as a buuble filter...........Hard to describe til I get around to doing it.

As far as the quality of this ........great. Has anyone run this with the supplied venturi? I would guess that in stock condition its probly not that bad.

Any good source of plastic for the riser tub? I am soing shopping at the container store and a returant supply store to look for cups or jars that fit

Big Al's in Canada might have metric plumbing supplies

Someone else had one of these and said they used the supplied venturi and that it worked very well. They had a Mag 7 if I remember correctly.

I have some 2.5" acrylic I can cut to the size you want for the cup riser if you want. Let me know.

whaledriver what size pump you planning on running for your recirc? I was planning on starting with 530 gph and if I needed I was going to bump up to about 800 GPH. I still need to find a riser tube as well. I will check out big als.
What size feed pump will you use?

sherm I thought some one said the tube was not a full 2.5", if you have some thing that would work I may be interested in getting some from you as well. LMK, thanks

The i.d. of the two is very close. the o.d. of the 2.5 is, well 2.5. The wall thickness of my 2.5 is 1/8 so that is why it is wider overall. It is not an exact fit but a little weld-on 16 would make it just right. Your choice, I have a 6 ft peice lying around that I don't forsee ever needing all of. I can cut it to whatever length you guys want and ship it USPS Priority for $5.00. I measure 3 and 5/8" for the riser.

I am going to use the Genx 2400 needle wheel pump. I have seen it at a couple of places between 39 and 40 dollars.

Customaquatics and Premium Aquatics in Indiana are selling it I dont know of anyone else
