Jebo 520 skimmer thread.

so if i run it in the sump I should have fine bubbles? Which on of the venturie thigs should I use? One of them is a cap with a fitting on the end for a air hose and the other one screws into the pump and has an air hose fitting in the middle of it.

Did you guys just modify regular pvc fittings to adapt them to the metric stuff on the 520? I got mine today and it came with a pump but there is no way to hook it up without adapting. I sort of assumed that as it came with the pump it would be complete to run except for the inlet. I should be able to test it tomorrow. The unit itself looks great.

For thewith a air hose fitting on the side is the venturi fitting for the pump. Take the cover off the side of the pump to get acess to the impeller area. Just thread this onto the impeller housing and you are set.

As far as the metric fittings go they are not as big of a problem as you think. The gray exit fittings are 25mm but a 1 1/4 fitting will fit over them nicely. I bought some nice gate valves that are that size and plan on glueing them with silicone. I like silicone since it is strong wenough to hold and seal but can still be taken apart.

I am very happy with the Genx2400. It comes with great fittings and only cost $39.95. It seems to be the right size if not a little big.

look in galary for a larger pic, as for pump i'm using the sedra 5000 skimmer ready pump.... it pulls about a half gallon of skimmate every 3 days..... I am looking into adding another sedra 5000 skimmer ready pump for recurculation, just to see what that does.

I didn't look so this might have been said already, but there is a guy on EBAY that has over 30 of these JEBO 520's for the original asking price. The shipping is high but after doing the mods to this skimmer it is well worth the money.
Just thought someone might want to know.

I think the Genx is as good or better than a sedra. Remember that Euroreef is switching over to Genx. Its probly for a reason.

I may have to give one of them a try to see. :) Which one do you think is closest to the 9000?

I just got my 1 1/4 gate valves and should be able to mock up the exit side of the skimmer soon. Its a moster of a valve with a high flow design and food grade seals. It should slip right over the gray 90 fitting that comes with the skimmer. The gate valve will make tuneing this skimmer much easyier.

It looks like I will have to design my own wet neck. It shouldnt be hard but I am new to acrylic and wanted to find one premade.
