Jeremy's 250g build - Take II

Well, time for a mini update. I really haven't gotten anything accomplished on the tank. I did get the garage frag/holding tanks drained, but have yet to tear them down and get them cleaned up.
The only real update to be had is that I picked up a couple of fish from a friend that tore his tank down. I picked up a Leopard wrasse that he has had for some time in his reef, but he has yet to show himself. I have a general idea of where he buried himself in the sand, but will have to wait a few days for him to resurface and get a picture.
I also picked up a tiny(for the time being) Vlamingi.

I've been thinking of getting one and this one popped up for sale. Other than that, I picked up another black brittle star.
But, just so you've got something to look at, I took a few pics of the fish, and here are the ones that came out somewhat well.

Thanks guys. I really need to get to work on the box to reduce the micro bubbles, but sooo many other things are ahead of that on the list of things that need to get done and take priority. I've also got to alter the flow in the tank to get rid of and area on the surface of the water that collects proteins and doesn't drain well to the overflow. There are just not enough hours in the day!!!

Ooohhh, someone came out just before feeding time.

I know, a bunch of pics of the same fish, but I didn't feel like deciding which was better than any of the others.:D

As someone brought to my attention, I do not have enough pictures of the Lineatus wrasses. Here are a few of both the male and female in no particular order.

I'm not sure why I have such a hard time getting decent pics of them, but out of 94 shots taken, these are the best of the bunch, with many of them being utter trash.:D Who needs to be good. Just take a ton and a few are bound to turn out.

Thanks guys. They are awesome. It's still hard to believe how big they are compared to my other wrasses. The female is 2x as large as any of the others.

Beautiful JT.

I cant believe the size of that female either. Well both for that matter but she is a monster:)

Jim, I agree about being so jealous. That will be just about my final fish.

I love that leopard wrasse.

Is that the same one that eats AEFW's?

Are they a rare fish or pretty common?

I will defiantly be looking out for one.

How are the corals doing after the move?

No more floods lately I hope.

There are a lot of wrasses that'll eat AEFW's. Most of the ones with a similar body shape are better at it than others. Take the Radiant for one, whereas the fairies don't tend to be as effective because they spend more of their time foraging higher in the water column, as opposed to picking amongst the corals. They're not rare, but can be touchier than other wrasses. The hardest part is getting beyond acclimation and getting them to eat. This one has been in a friends tank for at least a year, so I knew he was eating well.

The corals are doing well. I haven't placed any of the others yet. Still sitting on the eggcrate rack. Just need more time in the day.

And no, no more floods. I can't see how I would have that problem again. I am dealing with microbubbles though. I've slowed down the pumps, so I'm fairly certain that it's not the flow through the sump that is the problem. I do have a very slow drip from the handle of the ball valve on the return pump. It's in the sump, so not a problem there, but it may be letting air into the return line. I think I need to order another true union ball valve to replace it, just haven't gotten to it yet. Funds are TIGHT.

Nice Fish Jeremy! I'm a huge fan of leapord wrasses, my fave are the blue stars.

Thanks Sam, me too. I still would like a Potters or one of the other Leopard variants, but will have to wait on that for awhile.

Well bro, I hope that you took some pictures before you started to dismantle the tank :(
