How bout a gem tang?

Hahaha

can you say "RIP OFF"?

Cool looking fish, but they don't hold a candle to a sohal.... for 500x's the price

I'm gonna send Warren a text right now :)

Yeah, those are beautiful fish, but I don't think I've seen one sold locally.

I always prefer to buy a fish I can see first, but that is definitely an option!

Up until Saturday, I haven't seen one locally either. I do know that there should be a few in the LA area as of last week. A big Sri Lanka shipment came in.

I was over at Hiep's place last week, and I saw what looked like a mimic tang in his prop tank. He said he wanted to sell it. I hope that's what I saw. Good Luck :)

Gem Tangs are a rip off. They're nice though. I wish they were way cheaper. I'd pick one up.

I'm going to be looking on Wednesday for the sohal's replacement. I will see what else is available locally.

Yeah, I'd pick one up too if it were like $50. They're just a black fish with white spots

Not a huge fan of the Naso tangs either. Regular or blonde. I'm pretty picky :p I'm sure you figured that out already

I want a show stopper (like my sohal :( ). The PT is just too common. Everyone seems to have one nowadays...

Yeah, but upon further research it appears that they can grow up to 24" :(

The ones that I have seen are all huge!

I'm still looking but I have a couple of ideas :)

What about a yellow belly blue tang or a dussumieri?

Just not all that impressed with them. They're nice, but not what I'm looking for :(

I understand, they aren't on my list either. I think I went over my list with you when you came by on Sat.
I fragged off a piece of a monti for you. Its a piece I got from YR that has a light yellow base and lavender/purple polyps when it is happy. I think it will be a good trial piece for you. I also have a frag of green slimer for you. ;)

No problem buddy ;) Lets plan on hooking up this weekend to get some color in that tank.

get a male crosshatch trigger

I wouldn't mind a pair, but I want to find a small pair. The smallest ones I have seen are around 6 inches.

Sounds good Mark. Gonna have to be Sat as I'm picking Haruko (my girlfriend) up in the city at the airport on Sunday :D

I have thought about a male CH trigger.....

I'm gonna add a chevron, mag-foxface and maybe something else on Wednesday when I remove the sohal.

John told me to add some more fish and keep the sohal sumped for a few weeks, then try one more time. Not sure though.....

They have a Duss-tang at YR, but John won't sell it (and doesn't want to bother catching it :(

I have seen John's dussumieri. It is really nice, but it will be going into his 600.

Even though I really want to add a couple other tangs, if the achilles does take to the tank, I might need to rethink my wants vs. needs.
