chewie,

Not a fan of the blue tangs either. Like the yellow bellies, but not enough put it in my tank.

So frustrating!!!!!

I want an achilles, but my gut just tells me that it'll end up causing me problems...

I am surprised you dont like a YELLOW BELLY.
you should see Dr DooLittle and JeSUS, they have real nice yellow bellies in there tank.
i love the Duss' also but i would rather go with the Yellow Belly, even over the Sohal and Achilles, now those guys are more common than the Yellow Belly

Unless jesus's and doolittles are super nice i am not that crazy at them either. AL has had one in there 240 for a long time now!

I also say Achilles is less common than a YBT!. How many people do you know with an Achilles?:)

I agree with Warren, just because people can not keep a species alive does not make them more rare or not. Jeseus has 4 YBT in his tank (I blieve its 4). That would be sweet. :) Heck Exotic has had over 20-25 achilles in the the last 2-3 months.

Personally, I just don't like palette tangs. Even if they have a yellow stomach, its still just a palette tang. IMO they are unattractive fish. JMO, as they are a very popular species in this hobby.

Maybe not rare as in how many a store can get in or how common they are.
but rare in the fact how many locals do you know with Achilles compared to YBT. jesus has 4? think that is more than anyone i know with achilles.

Now if you and Jeremy can keep your 2 alive, that is also rare. But definitely worth the risk, IMO.

You are very correct Davey, but Jesus used to be one on the areas best importers of high quality stuff. So if I had 4 gem tangs in a tank that I collected over the years, would they not be rare?

Gem tangs are definitely rare. Not disagreeing that YBT tangs are more or less rare than an Achilles. I just think keeping an Achilles alive and in a home aquarium is rare and about 1,000 times nicer looking than a YBT.

Nothing against Jesus at all i have heard only great things about him and his livestock. If he loves teh YBt that is awesome and what makes the hobby so diverse

I was in there today. No go.

They didn't have that fish in. When I asked Brandon about them, he knew exactly what I was talking about, and said he hadn't seen one in about a year.

I wonder if they are reef safe? It says they may pick at LPS and such....

Thats the fish that I was talking to you about? John has two that traded in in the chaeto tank in the invert section.
