A lot of people are happy with the tradewinds models. They seem to be pretty popular.

I run an aqualogic 1/4hp. Its a drop in, but it seems to be working great.

I'm really not the person to ask on this. My aqualogic is my first chiller, so I don't have much experience.

I know that the Tunze chiller has really caught my eye, and if I ever have an extra $13 hundo lying around, I'm ALL over it

The AC Jr. is a nice unit at a good price and the DC8 is reusable on the AC3 you will upgrade to in the next 1-2 years!

I think you'd be happy with a 1/4hp unit on a 120. It will give you a little head room. I have a JBJ Arctica and an Aqua Logic. Both are nice units. Current imports a decent unit too and people swear by Tradewinds and Tecos. To each their own.

To add, (because I didn't read the last question ) I prefer to run my equipment on different controllers. That way if one fails, they all don't fail. I'm also a die hard mac fan, and unfortunately they haven't made a controller that interfaces with my macbook pro (unless I'm running windows) So I haven't been really tempted to try any of the controllers out.

I'm definitely not saying there's anything wrong with the all-in-one controllers.

If I did try one, I would prolly only use it to control my lights and ph though

I'd keep my Tunze and ranco running

Oh, yeah. My Medium airstar came in too. It won't fit on my skimmer though

So I sold this model and I just re-ordered a new ATB med to be built with this pump

It should be here in 2 weeks

I seriously don't get how you can get your plumbing so neat and clean. I had one helluva day trying to redo my plumbing... and there was primer all over the place. I need to refine this art form...

Hey Jay! Not really much to it. Plan ahead, mock everything up, and then get a rag ready for any mistakes, and go VERY slow. If you get a run, clean it up. I've even been known to sand down a mistake or two :lol: Davey was here when I plumbed it. You just gotta go slow and take your time.

No, I haven't made it over there yet. I have two on hold though
