No prob Chris
To me, it sounds like the ALK/DKH fluctuations are probably your problem. I dunno though. I don't have much experience yet
I test my tank religiously (like twice a day), and have become obsessed with the idea of getting these corals to color up and grow. Other than a sudden drop in alk from adding the SSB, my tank is at a constant 9.5-10.5 DKH with CA @ 400-425 and MG at 1350. Everyday I seem to be getting more and more color out of them. I don't think be able to get them to color quite as nicely as I want for another couple of months, and after I add some VHO actinics. But I am on my way
I am a bit concerned though because I will be adding a CA-rx in the coming weeks. I'm sure during the first week or two I'll get some fluctuation, but hopefully after that, all I will have to do is test, and not worry about dosing
Okay, update:
I was getting anxious to add the two tangs because the PT has been settling down for the past few days, and is now quite comfortable in its new surroundings. I knew that the longer I waited, the worse it would get.
So I examined the tangs in my sump after work, and both looked well. A little shy still, but they look healthy now.
So I added them both at around 7pm tonight.
After about an hour or two of harassment from the PT, things started to settle back in. The PT is very protective of its area, but it seems that the other two have found their own little spots for now.
Everyone ate quite a bit tonight, and the discolorations that I thought might be HLLE disappeared under the lights
The fish are looking pretty thin, but I plan to fatten them up over the next few days. Hopefully the fungus doesn't return
