the Forums button.
Scroll down, down, down, as in---way, way down. You'll see a section in dark blue called More Forums, and within that, Reef Club Forums.

Find your section of the country, and keep looking down the alphabet: sometimes they're under city names instead of state names, eg, Spokane instead of Washington, or not even that: say, the Inland Empire Reef Society, etc.

These are the guys that will show up to help you in a crisis, if you make friends and share expertise. These are the guys that may HAVE spare salt on New Year's Eve. And that may have frag swaps and other real neat activities.

Thanks Skater, it took me several months after I joined Reef Central before I found the local club forums. You will find your fellow reefers to be (usually) some of the greatest people on earth, literally willing to come out in the middle of the night to help a fellow reefer.

Take the time to do this. Join your local club.

We have a member who had a tank crack overnight. Numerous members pulled together with spare tanks/tubs and there is at least one guy - if not two - driving over 4 hours EACH WAY to help them out.

Jealous! My local is unjoinable :(

A tip that might help people get in touch that took me a while to figure out might be good to put here. When you look at forums it usually only shows posts going back so far, like a day or a month or whatever. So if it looks like an empty forum, check down at he bottom to change it to show threads in the last year or whatev. It's under "display options." There might just not have been activity for a little while, especially in the summer when everyone gets kinda lazy. But if you ask a question or just say hi, You might make a new friend.

HI BOSTON!!
There's a Facebook page, but I couldn't make it work. Figured I'm not "BRS material" lol, like they read my other Facebook stuff and were like "...nah"

I thought this was 1 of the biggest clubs.....lol
I actually got on here because the club in my area seems dead. They had a meeting in February and nothing since, can't even get a response on the club website. Wonder how they would react if someone tried to jump start it again.

Duke4life the Louisville club is very active but on a Facebook page now. As club members preferred it.
You said you did not want to use Facebook. If you don't wish to do Facebook. You miss out on what the 180 members are talking about. As well as the frag swap we are having in November with dealers across the U.S.
