I remember that nem when I first bought him taylor t, he was unusually shaped. You have done a great job rehabbing the nem, it is amazing the recovery that anemone has had, gorgeous nem now and so full of life. Beautiful creatures they are, amazing how their tentacles move about when they are happy, like tubifex worms live.

Has the new gig expanded much since adding it the DT and how is it feeding? I have had my purple in my DT for 3 days now and I knew it would be big based upon the size of the foot but I had no idea it would almost double its size compared to when it was in QT.
I'm looking forward to your observations of the cut gig compared to your other gig. Glad to see it is doing well and hope it continues to improve.

It's typically a few inches away, but there are times when it raises its column high enough to where it can touch it. The foam guard prevents the gig's tentacles from getting sucked in (it's actually farther away than it looks in the photo). Also, I have the speed set to about 3/4 full, so there's more force pushing the gig away, than sucking it in. But, I agree, it is too close for comfort, and I wish the gig would take a typical gig posture, and hug the rock more.
My gig actually doubled in size as well. It's acclimating quickly and ate some Rod's Food when I was feeding the tank.
If it does well for another week, I think I may put my big gig up for sale. It's just getting too big for my 120 and I don't have any plans to set up another tank. My clowns have already taken a liking to the new gig, and the female still can't figure out which one to call her home.

Everything seems to be progressing nicely. The gig is coloring up, and the mouth is closed, though the siphonoglyphs are still exposed sometimes, and still aren't in the correct position. The blue is still very vibrant.
It still has some slight "striping" in the tentacles, but they continue to get longer, including the outer edge"
The foot is extremely blue, and hasn't faded. My Radions aren't at the full daytime setting, so it's hard to see the blue (the lighting makes it look more purple), but it's blue like the blue stripes in this webpage:
What's interesting is that my big gig is on the move. It hasn't moved in over a year. It's seems to be slowly moving towards the other gig, as if to say "hi" or "get the frick outta my tank" depending on your interpretation:
I actually had to move the rock backwards and upwards to prevent it from mowing down my zoas/palys.
If my baby onyx clowns make it past meta (I was only able to collect about 20), I will set up a 40 gallon breeder to use as a grow out tank, and eventually one of the nems will move into it. Surprisingly, my wife didn't want me to sell the big gig. :dance:

Not sure if you had seen my post or not but my old gig did the same thing to new gig started moving to it and it was almost like they were chasing each other around i lost the New green Gig . Just my 0.02

I did see the thread, which is why I am concerned. I'll keep an eye on it and if it moves again, I'm going to remove the small gig and put it back in the QT tank until the 40 breeder is up and running and ready for the gig.
Lighting and flow have not changed. I've moved the MP40 around but the gig was always planted. The only change was the addition of the second gig. I find it strange that I've had it for over a year, and it was on the same rock, then I add another gig and it moves.

UPDATE: I woke up this morning to see a completely deflated purple gig. The big gig must've attacked it last night. Just kidding. But it's back in quarantine, along with a bag of carbon, and will not go back into the DT. It looks like it's slowly inflating again. For some reason, I knew something like this would happen.

Sorry to hear... these animals can look great for a while, then just go downhill one day, then back up then back down... Good luck keep us posted.. This was a real cool specimen.
