Glad you're back to having a large angel in that reef Gary.
I know you have some amazing fish and that anemone is to die for....it still seemed to be missing something.
The Emperor fixes that.
Start fattening him up in QT with some of your waffles, and he'll be ready to hold his own in the DT in no time!
WOW, what a ride reading this thread has been. Gary, your tanks and inhabitants have been amazing and continue to be. You certainly have earned TOM on all occasions.
I lived in Rochester for a short while, didn't care for the snow you get there I now live in NW Iowa. We get some snow but at least ours goes away every few weeks before we get more.
I can't imagine how much alk you are going through with all of those wonderful SPS's. Beautiful and I love your camera skills. Keep it up and letting us live vicariously through you!
The new Emperor is a perfect fit.
Too bad Regals are so shy...there's no way I was going to get rid of my established fishes.
Juvi emperors are as beautiful as adults IMO... so it's still a win win!
The fade up and down at dawn/dusk beats VHOs hard.on/off by a mile.
(Recall- I'm still running halides and my LED units replace only my VHOs)
I don't update this thread as often nowadays for several reasons:
1) really busy !
2) I like posting pix with updates here but I work mostly off a phone nowadays
3) dive site pictures online make me realize how reef aquariums pale in comparison ro the real thing!
Depending on what lights you're supplementing...
You'd be hard pressed to find a better choice. I loved my VHOs and T5 gives similar great results.
I find certain extremely blue LEDs offensive and I would NEVER run them!
These BML units are none of that... They're great.
Only one problem so far:
when power goes out the BML Solunar controller needs clock reset.
This may not be an issue with Apex users.
