Joe your tank is in the worlds best aquariums correct ?

It is on the cover of Mike Palettas book "Ultimate Marine Aquariums" and is featured inside.

The tank is 30' long, 14' wide and 6.5' deep, so just over 20,000 gallons.

Yup, old pic. Not sure when it was taken, maybe 5 years ago?

Daniel Knop had some very nice words about my tank in his recent magazine which highlighted big tanks.
Thanks, its my baby and mistress all in one.

Much nicer now. I saw it three weeks ago and it has grown in just a little bit since that picture 5 years ago. ;)

Well worth a trip to NY. Come in the summer and hit the Hamptons while you're here.

Well, reading through this thread I stored up so many compliments, "Wow's," and "that's inspirationals's" that they've all run together...

Suffice to say that I BOW DOWN TO THE MASTERS! :D

DaddyJax, I would love to hear more about your tank and how you get those killer colors. Pretty please?

And what kind of coral is this one? It amazes me.

gorduhan, that is a very impressive monti!

Canarygirl, thank you! What would you like to know about my tanks? That is a tricolor of some kind I think or a Nana. It was a brown out/RTN that I got in wild and I noticed a little blue left on the tips of the RTNed coral. I actually was going going to toss it because of how little was left(1/8" on the tips of 5 branches!) but a good friend of mine said "Why, give it a chance!".
Thanks you Bullfraw!

Well, isn't that something. Makes me want to dig out that 1/8" still-alive Ora blue millie frag from the bottom of my tank. :)

I would like to know about your lighting including #watts/gallon, and what methods you use to achieve the "low nutrient" environment. (I'm assuming you have a low nutrient environment because of the bright colors.) And if you use any supplements that you think are helping....

Thank you! :)

Well, I am not a low nutrient guy and that is something that I have talked about alot on the past posts. Low nutrients is not an all around thing. Having low PO4 is a must but nutrients is also needed. I have alot of fish and feed once to twice a day a little heavy. I only feed good clean frozen food and no dry stuff so the nutrients the fish are eating and releasing is healthy for the corals. I run a BB tank and skim heavy as well. Nutrients in+nutrients out=nice colors and growth. I also don't believe in Phosban or other PO4 removers.
As far as suplements I make two-part and nothing else with the occasional Magnesium dose.

My lights are 10k ReefLux SE and 12k ReefLux SE both in each tank with no actinics.
