Just got back from a meeting in Rochester...

Got back yesterday from a meeting at the Rochester Hyatt. Really nice conference accommodations I have to say. Fortunately it got out at noon, and did not go until 5pm, because the ramp we all parked at collapsed just after 5!

Also, on Wednesday night one of the other people that went to the conference got slashed up by a razor, while trying to prevent a woman from being assaulted.

Well, I had a great time personally but it's good to be back in Buffalo :)

Oh yeah, and your LFS's are really nice and my new Yuma is doing well lol.

Thank god no one was hurt! :eek2:

I worked downtown for about 3 months at one point and didn't like the atmosphere but I never feared for my life. It's quite sad that another visitor got slashed up trying to help someone and I consider that person to have great courage and hope they are OK.

I've been told many times that we are on the Biggest fault line in the country and when I first looked at that picture I got nervous for a second there... one day California will look better to us than New York. Hopefully not in our lifetimes though...

I didnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t mean to make Rochester sound bad I actually like Rochester. One thing I noticed about downtown was the lack of graffiti, although the mounted police could use some "poop catchers" Some people felt uncomfortable, but thatââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s the way it is in any good size city. I was just really surprised to see that the ramp collapsed a few hours after I was on it, and thought I would share.
The guy who was cut up seems fine, he had an arm brace on Thursday and just an ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œaceââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ bandage on Friday. Fortunately the conference was sponsored by the agency I work for, The NYS Crime Victimââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s Board. So Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m sure we would cover his losses from the assault. If anyoneââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s been the victim of a crime or knows someone who has been you should check out our website. The NY version is the best in the Country by the way

BAWHAWHHAWAWW!!! That's funny. I can see the headline now:

"Man attending Crime Convention Assaulted"

ROTFL! Welcome to Rottenchester. ;)

Holy carp, I used to park in that ramp a couple times a week when I lived in Rochester... Crazy to see something like that in a small town when I've usually associated building and parking collapses with larger cities. Glad to hear nobody was hurt

I'm glad too. We had about 350 people at the conference and took up most of the hotel. If it had ended at 5 there would have been a lot more traffic at the time it collapsed.
ReeferMac, we always seem to have strange things happen at meetings. One of the programs in Buffalo has an annual luncheon. One year, before I started a nun was arrested and another year some purses were stolen while the Erie County Sheriff was giving a speech, we get a lot of irony lol.
