Got back from home deopt and mesured out that egg crate and it fit pretty good but not perfect fit like i wanted it to but still good now its in the basment drying did a few coats of blk paint so it matches the whole blk. BC thing... PS I hate my PEP. shrimp I feed that sob almost everyday and he still eates my corals been trying to catch him for like 3 months dead or alive that sob must gooooo...LOL HATE I have for him... yea I hate that thing when i first got him he almost ate all my 200 watermelon chalice then i started fedding him everynight then a month ago he ate alot of my hammer and then last night i feed him, woke up this morning turned on the lights and he was going to town on my frogspawn the damn green tips were floating all through my tank.I try to feed him lot and now that the eyelash blennie just died he is wondering throught the tank more like hes the boss..LOL so i try to get him with my 12" twezzers dont even care if i snap him in halh i had enough of that 7$ pos.. lol Brian
 
yeah a while back my peppermint shrimp (NOT CAMEL SHRIMP) ate almost all my acan frags... within like 2 weeks of buying them.. i was so ticked off.
 
yea those pep. can be the worst thing ever man tose artent reef safe i dont care what anyone says and if they have on they just never seen it eat any of there coral.. got to be carefull with them i would pay people if they could get it out of my tank..lol 3-4 months ive been trying to get him out...
 
How are you absolutely positive that they are peppermints and not camelbacks?

They can vary in shades but the colors are identical and the shape is almost identical as well but the diet isnt the same.

Just seems more likely that a mistake was made at the LFS level or something where they were mislabled.
 
You can always tell a camel by its nose. Bottom pic is a camel shrimp.

I agree. Invert the top of a 16.9oz plastic bottle of spring water . Poke a few holes in it. Attach 3ft piece of fishing line to top of bottle. Place food inside the bottle. Submerge in tank. Drum roll!.......this type of trap works!
 
I just used the bottle trap to catch a flame angel. I have had luck before but not with this one. Anyways, the bottle trap may work if the right food is in there. May have to sacrifice a frag of the coral its eating. Not ideal but neither is not adding any new additions to the tank.
