Just grabbed these off DD

Greetings my wet friends. I've been waiting for a pair of purple firefish to come up on DD. Well, today was the day.

Any tips? I know they can jump.

Lid with NO openings. I went through 3 diamond gobies that way. 2 of which jumped through holes about one inch. The other one jumped into my corner overflow, which was empty at the time. He then fell through the drain holes into my cabinet and died.

Now thats I have my sump the current one cant do that, and my lid is sealed off completely. No holes to jump.

Man i love purple fire fish, i had one that had such a great personality, it ended up jumping through less than an inch gap i had on my glass canopy, I found it behind the tank, With my current set up i would not get anymore I would go with the lid completely sealed off.

Beautiful fish. I have a pair in my rimless tank and they are doing great. I do have a screen over the tank just on case they want to jump, but I think while they have each other they will be ok. I had a single one before and was always very nervous these two seem real calm. Good luck with your new additions.

Very nice fish. I think the purples are even nicer looking than the Helfrich. I always found firefish to be easy to keep except in keeping them in the tank, they will jump at the drop of a hat but its sounds like you know that. They sure are beautiful.

funny, i got one yesterday. i got from another person that while was trying to catch it, jumped...took hiim a while to find it, but it's doing fine my my nano with a 6 line.

Got a call yesterday from the good doctors. Seems one of the fish sustained some dorsal fin damage and they are holding them until it heals. They said they will update me weekly. I may have to send some flowers or something. Hopefully it will heal quickly and stress of being bitten won't trigger anything else. Great customer service in my opinion.
