Just ordered the new 70 watt viper

I got one too, but have only had the chance to fire it up. I plan to use it on my 24 nano once I get around to setting it up again. I liked the blue color of the bulb, and I think the output will be perfect for sofies/lps in the 24g.
If it ships out today (wednesday), i'm assuming I'll get a ship notification from ups?
I'll be sitting on pins and needles till I hear something as I'm excited to get this fixture and would like to have it on friday. (I know I should have ordered it earlier, but I have friday off, and figured I could start the burn in period. As long as it ships out today I should have it by friday).

Looks like it shipped on Wed and you should have it Friday.
Well you guys came thru once again.
Light arrived WELL packaged from ups. Nothing damaged, everything works.
At first impression when turning it on, I said to myself - self, i really hope this bulb color doesn't change thru the burn in period. It was real blue. After a while, it has became more white but not a whole lot. It still had a nice blue color.
Ballast looks extremely well made. I'm not a big fan of the plastic arms on the thing, but I guess they will hold it since you won't be moving it around or anything. (hopefully).
Overall, I give it a 9/10.
Only reason for that would be because of the plastic and the reflector could have been made a teenie tiny bit better.
My corals are already opening up a little wider.
I'd say its better than the powerquad and the 2x 40 watt orbit by a long shot.
