Just received maxima basal question

So I just received a nice 4 in maxima clam. It s basal threads are still hanging on to 3 small bits of coral rubble maybe 1/4 dia x 1/2 in long. It seems happy in the rock spot I placed it in a slightly hollowed out spot that its basal area fit nicely.

Question: Should I just leave the bits of rock be and let the clam further attach to the rock or should I try to cut the rock bits off before it has a chance to attach to the main rock?

I would just leave it alone if it seems happy roll with it...
