Big Ben just chose to sign with the Bulls instead of the Pistons I'm pretty disappointed that he's gone, but feel it might be the best long-term. Numbers-wise, he isn't worth that much. BUT, he brings so many intangibles, which are priceless.

He took the Bulls $52MM/4 year over the Pistons $48MM/4 year deal. Either title contention didn't mean much to him:mad2: , or there's trouble in the Lion's Den.

gotta blame flip saunders. there was tension between them towards the end of the season. now that big ben is gone, the darko trade really hurts. wonder how the rest of the offseason is going to play out... do they sign the best available bigman (joel pryz.) to man the paint? or do they just keep what they have intact and use either sheed or dice at the center position.

Wow, that's a big change in Detroit. He was the centerpiece of their defense... He never had great offensive numbers, but his rebounds, steals and blocks were great to anchor the defense. It'll be interesting how they do now. They had the same starting 5 for a while.

I can't wait to see how the rest of the signings and trades work. Go warriors ... they better make some moves!!!

YEAHHH!!! GO BULLS! the Bulls definitely have a shot at the title and one of the teams to look out for in the Eastern Conference. For being the youngest team in the league they got game and they accomplished a lot without a true big man the past couple of seasons. I heard about this earlier today but I didnt think it actually happened. And the Kings are not going to get Garnett because the Wolves will not think about trading him to the West and have to face him. BTW the signing of big Ben is not till July12th anyways and their also trying to hollar at PJ Brown. Things are looking good. This means with Big Ben leaving Detroit this opens the door for Bonzi Wells.

Yeah, Flip and Big Ben were on a different page all season. I think his lack of playing time and the team's focus on defense had a lot to do with his decision. I also learned that the Bulls offered a $60MM deal, so the additional $12MM probably had a lot to do with it as well:lol:

As much as I love Big Ben, $60MM over 4 is too much and too long to lock into a 32 year old undersized center, who's rebounding and blocks have declined in each of the past 4 years. Still, he was the heart and soul of the franchise

Yeah, I'd say trouble in the lion's den was the deciding factor.

it was a pretty fat contract but just 3 million more than what the Pistons were offering. The Bulls are just trying to get more help and Ben a way better upgrade than Chandler and it adds more in the locker room, and there definitely not done in the free agant market. the team is just trying to get more respect, a little bit more veteran help also. they were ok with the litttle they had last season and I think its a nice start for them this season with what they are trying to build.

WHAT? man their are still way better teams then bulls in east with ben wallace and pj brown and jr smith. Heat , Pistions , Nets, and Cavs. Yes this makes them better and threat in the playoffs but still a move or a player away from being contenders. Now if they were somewhat lucky to get kevin then all bets are off.

As far as bonzi do you really think he wants to come on the bench yet?

speaking of basketball, I made the King's bus park where they were supposed to instead of the terminal curb...I guess they figured that they would get hassled for signatures and stuff. I had to laugh when they walked across a ton of people and no one noticed who they where...other than the odd looks at the really tall people. That would have never happened that way a few years ago.

aint nobody said they were gonna win the title, its just gonna make them an even better team than they were. they were a descent team last season and they are gonna be better next season. the free agent market has not even gotten started and theres gonna be another and hopefully one more better signing for the bulls. I know that there are other and better teams in the east, its just going to put the bulls in the same category for next season. just like the Kings there a contending team in the west but theres better teams. dont hate!

The Bulls are in good shape. They addressed their biggest need, which was interior defense, without sacrificing any of their young backcourt players.

Hinrich is a wizard with the ball and Gordon's gutsy. It's a great combination of youth and experience. The only issue will be replacing that aging frontcourt in a couple of years.
