Well my tank has finally starting to come together so I've decided to take some pictures. The tank looks like crap right now because of all the hair algae but I'm working on it. Official tank start date is 7/24. Here is how it's progressed so far. Sorry for the crappy pictures. Taken with a Canon SD600 (over 6 years old) as I don't have my dSLR alnymore.

Was taken when I had the 4x24 T5's on there

Changedto a 250w 14k Phoenix DE. For circulation, there is a MP10 ES and a hydor 1400 (over kill?) running on a on/off of 2/5 controlled by an AC JR.

The sump consist of the default cadlights sump. In there is a 4 inch filter sock, BM NAC3+ (not that impressed with this skimmer), light from HD, BRS reactor w/ maxi 1200 running GFO and GAC, and a mag 9.5 return

Today, I built this bad *** net and got it to curve pretty well with the tank

Hopefully I'll get this hair algae under control so I can buy more corals. That's gonna be it for now though, I've spent all my graduation money plus more on this tiny tank. Do miss the 180 though. Cheers all!:wavehand:

How do you have that much HA in only 3 weeks? Sounds like you got some bunk LR. I can understand a diatom bloom and maybe a little cyano, but no way should clean rock start growing HA all over in a freshly cycle tank.

Also looks like your lights are bleeding out a ton. Maybe change your reflector?

Yup, my live rock was leeching phosphate from my old tank but I'm working on it. Hopefully some of Dr. Tim's product will work in reducing it. Considering that I've reduced my phosphate from 1 to .07~ or so, I think it could be worse.

8/30: Hair algae getting under control, added a couple of corals and redid the aquascape a little. Thanks Brent for the bonsai, tri color valida, and pop

Pictures taken today 9/9/12
Going to get a new camera soon as this one is eight years old.
I wish my sps had more color. Don't know why the colors don't pop.
Just did some test, here are the parameters:
SG 35 ppt
pH 8.0
Nitrate 0-2
Phosphate 0.07
Cal 550 (higher end)
kH 7.0 (on the lower end)
Mag 1500 (higher end)
Thoughts?

I added another stand to the side of my tank so I could be a little more organized.

I think this BTA is about to split just as well^

Special thanks to Ramon for generously giving great deals on frags since he broke down his tank. Wish I could keep your sps the same color but my tank just isn't up to par unfortunately.

Very nice justin
Also You need more blue to have the anemone glows yellow
Maybe add some supplemental blue LEDs ?

Lawrence, I actually run a 14k phoenix 250 DE. the tank is pretty blue but i wanted the white balance to be a little more balanced in the pictures. the anemone does not have a green color anymore. I have a 2x24watt retrofit and will be adding an d-d actinic and ati purple just as well to see if I can get the color combination I like.
