Juvenile red sea regal angel or not?!

I would contact LADD and ask for a credit. LADD sells Indo-Pacific for half of there Indian ocean cousins. If my Indian Ocean Yellow Belly that I bought a while back turns out to be blue, I will say something.

I don't think he stated that the fish was from LADD.

This is definitely from DD! It was in Kevin's tank according to description.

I will email them to see what they say.

I got my baby from LA back in May and he has more than doubled in size and no sign of any blue, still pure yellow

Sorry I had to take it in the dark, but since the Goldens in the tank are shy, he has become very shy

That's an awesome looking fish. What are you feeding it?

THRoewer is correct, I just picked up another from my LFS. Eats Spiralina Brine and Mysis and picks on algae. I love watching this guy along with my BSJF and pair of Golden Angels (courtesy of DD) in my office

Good news everyone! I sent an email to LA with my order number from Nov 2011 and some pictures of my regal. I explained to them that there must have been a mix-up at their supplier and my regal is not a yellow-belly regal. I got a call back today and they acknowledged the mix-up and asked me how much store credit I would like. I told them whatever is fair works for me. They told me to give a number and I said $200 credit and they said sure.

Very nice customer service! Now I will be on the look-out for some new fish :)

If you don't mind me asking, what setting do you use for your pictures? Is it a real camera or from your phone?

My iPhone pictures look so terrible and the colors dont match at all lol..

and this is my Bali regal:

he got a good deal more gray-blue by now.

I mostly use my Motorola XT1254 phone to take pictures and videos.
My Olympus Digital Camera is from 2000 and a bit dated.

BTW, this is a very misleading picture - likely intentionally as it id for marketing purposes. The Indian Ocean specimen is an immature juvenile that hasn't fully colored up yet and the picture was taken with unfavorable light while the Red Sea specimen is a mature specimen and the picture taken to highlight the colors ideally. I've seen large mature Sumatra specimen here that looked precisely like the Red Sea regal in that picture.

I just picked up a Maldivian Regal.. It still has the juv eye spot. So when he becomes an adult, he will be more bold and yellowish similar to the picture in the red sea version?

Definitely an Indo-Pacific Regal and not Indian Ocean. From the nicely yellow tail fin I would say South Pacific like Solomons, Vanautu, GBR,...

How big is that fish?
