Looking good so far. Little hard to tell about whether or not it will be enough for sps just from the pics. I would definitely go with 2 daylight bulbs and 2 actinics. You'll get a lot more glow and color out of the corals.

Yeah thats what i thought. Im going to start with LPS maybe rather than softies. I know the lights a little big for the tank but thats the best wattage i could find for thiz size tank. It doesnt bother me thought its all about the corals right. Hopefully by next weekend or maybe the one after it should be cycling.

On the return pump can i just silicone the piping on to the pump because the piping is probably going to be bigger than the output nozzle

OK, Ive completely changed the fish list now;
Exquisite Wrasse
Purplehead Parrot Wrasse
Lawnmower Blenny
Maybe A Dwarf Angel
Royal Dottyback
2x Clownfish

If there is anything i need to change on this list please let me know.

how big does a dwarf angel get?

sorry kar, i didnt read anything, i just kinda skimmed through. i heard FOWLR somewhere? is this going to be a reef? the pump in the pic is your return pump? whats the gph rating on that thing?

the tank looks nice, needless to say i want to see more pics! whats the hold up?

Thanks, more pics will be coming this week :) the pumps 650GPH this tank was a FOWLR but im convertin it into a reef.

subscribed. im not getting much loving on my 55g thread either. click this

looks like your off to a good start. i think the 2 blue 2 white for the lights was a good idea. i dunno if it will help for sps tho. im not that experienced

Thanks, i think ill have to keep SPS around the top of the rockwork. I may get an anemone aswell.

I COMPLETELY cleaned the tank out today, toothbrushes, cloths all the rest. But i cant get some grains of sand out that are stuck in the corner. This will be ok right? there probably about 100 grains of sand left (not that i counted them) just guessing.

Thanks wherever i put it it will probably move to around the middle of the rockwork im guessing. Because although theyre not halides these bulbs are bright!

Not sure what you are asking here. If you're asking if you can "glue" the pipe to the pump with silicone rubber, no! Try to take some pictures of what your saying. I can't tell you in mm :) but I'll try to help with the plumbing concerns. You may have to take the pump with you to the local hardware store to get them to help you find adapters for it.

A few grains of sand left in the silicone probably will not hurt. Did you use vinegar like Sir Randy suggested? I need to go back and look at your fish list again, but your sump was looking good ;)

Thanks, Yeah i used the vinegar but when the RO unit gets here i will give it a good thourough scrubbing down. The 22mm hose adapter that came with the pump wont fit on. Ill get some pictures of what i mean when i get the piping because i cant really show you what i mean without it i should be getting the pipe sometime this week.
