I think im going to trash the whole island idea.. it would be too much work and too much stirring around, and I get a little aggrevated when redoing EVERYTHING..
I was thinking about sloping down from the left down to the right and forward a little (pictures will explain better lol)
I wouldnt have to do much moving around, just leave everything, but take off most of the right side and add it to the left.
I was thinking something like this...

Tank looks great man. You have a lot of browsers! I like the 2 islands idea. Thats what I will be doing when I upgrade. Your other I dea looks good to.

Aquascaping is sort of a fly by the seat of your pants operation. :lol:
You never know how it's going to turn out, as you can't really pencil in all the textures and shapes of each individual rock. The best you can do is like you have already done. Set a generic shape, then go to it. Allow the dust to settle, then tweak it until you like it.
Also, I shut off flow to the sump while doing this, then do a decently large water change (out of the display) right after. Filter socks are also a good idea to run while after you turn the sump back on to help clear the water and remove more floating debri.
Good luck, and make sure to post pics when you're done.

Get More rock and stack it like a slop from top to bottom like mine.... U will have thousands of places to put corals.....

very nice tank SoCal... You're right, you do have a ton of spaces for coral.. the thing for me though is that im not looking to put a ton of corals in there.. i just want room for a few very nice ones.. and i LOVE the idea of having open space w/ sand and water.. im going to make a slope just in one corner.. again thanks for sharing! and great looking tank!

Ya the possibilities are endless for aquascaping.. They way u like more open water and sand also allows u to put more fish... Id say if u want to do the corner half circle aquascape.. put the rock as high up in the corner and then slope it down left to right.. make plenty of caves also for the fish... That would look pretty good... I spent about 4 hours aquascaping mine after and eathquake took down most of it.....

Ok.. well aquascaping is done! Only took me 5 hrs this time! lol... I may move a rock or two tomorrow, but overall it looks pretty good.. nothing ever is exactly how you want it to look but it's pretty darn close... I'll post pictures in the morning so you guys can tell me whether i completely failed or not lol.
