What is the perfect enviroment for a bta. I have a 40 breeder tank. with abot 40lbs of live rock. My lighting is a coralife aqualight 2x96 watt pc (dont have it yet should recieve in about a week). I dont have any live stock yet but i am going to get my first fish in about a week. Would this enviroment be fine for a bta. I was going to get one before i start getting corals so it can pick its spot and i wouldnt have to worry about it harming any other corals while trying to find one. I am asking because my friend has a bta and he wants to get rid of it. so right now it is in the fuge with just a flood light for lighting.

How old is your tank. You really need a tank that is established for at least 6 to 8 months. A friend of mine put one in a tank that was only 1 month old, he had liverock and sand from a fellow reefers tank, that has been setup for about 2 years.

my tank is just over a month and a half old. i have about 35lbs of live rock. I got my rock about a week after i set it up. Here are my paremeteres.
(API test kit)
ph-8.3
ammonia-0
nitrates-0
nitrites-0
salinity-1.024

I am wanting to buy a bta from my friend who has it in his fuge. He had it in his main tank and it was in the same spot for over 6 months but then he re did his rock and he doesnt want to deal with it moving around and distubing all his corals. It is 3-4 in in diameter he is selling it for $5.

yes i was thinking about that also. Will it be ok to keep it in my tank until i find a good home for it? Or should i just not worry about it? it is inhis fuge in a net with one of those clip on lights.

It would be better off in your tank, than in that fuge with that type of light.Do you know someone who might keep it for you until your tank matures more.
