keeping multiple mantises in the same tank

is it really true that mantises must be kept alone in a tank?
i ask this because both me and my friend keep multiples
in a single tank.. mine is about 30 gallons... and neither
of my 3 mantises really have a problem with each other..
or is it only certain species that can't be kept with others...

Most of the time they fight. I do have a 5 incher with a 2 incher and I know that they see each other but never fight. I think that the same speciers fight more with each other than different species. I would ask Dr. Cadwell to see what he thinks.

Dr. Caldwell thinks they will fight. He told me that a while ago. I thought my THREE shrimp were the exception. Now my TWO shrimp have proved me wrong. My smasher smashed my female spearer of the same size. The smalest of the remainig two lives in a really small hole that the big one can't access. As soon as I find a home for it, the little one is gone.

I have two mantis in one tank and I have removed the separator. One is a tiny 1.5 inch and the other is a 6 inch O. scyllarus...so far no problems. I try to keep the big guy satiated...
