Kennys 20 G Nuvo

I added a green monti cap with red/orange neon polyps today. iPhone camera does no justice.

I'm pretty excited about my first SPS coral. Looks like it's happy :roll Face: can anyone ID what kind of Cap this is?

I currently have my lights scheduled on the reef link SPS PHX14 setting for SPS growth.

I put a Mr. DJ outlet switch board so I can easily turn off my pump when I feed the fish and do water changes. It makes it simple, will look nice in a stand

Is there any shadowing with just the 1 light? Im considering upgrading to an XR-15 but am worried about potential shadowing.

I only have one Monti Cap frag in the tank so far. But from what I can see from my rock work four inches from sides there is shadow and I'm running the light at 65% intensity. I recommend an XR30 Pro if you are going SPS dominant. I am considering another XR15 Pro.

Coraline algae is getting thick, I think it's time for a more aggressive CUC! I would post a pic but this whack site errors out when I try to attach a picture. Get it together RC!

My buddy gave me a pretty good size Seasons Greetings Monti Cap to add to my tank. It is not as green as my frag but I'm hoping I can brighten it up with my Red Sea Coral Pro salt water mix I been using.

I'm adding a little treat for my future fish and coral Tiger Pods (I poured the entire bottle of Pods in the tank) and Phyto Feast (going to spot feed coral with Phyto).

let me know how the corals react. I am using a product called coral smoothie. My LFS suggested it to me. My corals seem to like it. What will the tiger pods feed?

There is a lot of benefits from Tiger Pods,

Tiger Pods are great fish food, the fish love them. I like to watch the fish hunt for them when they are hungry. Tiger Pods are also great for the bio system in general and they reproduce just in case I ever forget to feed the fish. Some fish need to eat meaty foods so this takes out the limitations of meat eating fish in my tank (Mandorines, etc).

Today while doing a five gallon water change I found an empty shell from my first hermit crab. I cannot find the hermit :deadhorse1: so now I'm wondering if the dead hermit body will cause bad stuff to happen in my tank... :sad1:
