Kessil Club

My a360w arrives today! WooHoo! Can't wait for the UPS man!

What would you suggest setting the light at for acclimation? This is the older 360, not the E-series... I'll be running it through my RKL.

Will the release of the Aqua Illumination Prime LED fixture spell doom for Kessil?

I'm holding back buying a second W360 and controller

I started out at 40% intensity until my max which was 70%.

I don't think so. Kessil has been doing this for a long while and being in their field no one can come close. It's just a matter of preference per person.

Isn't the prime meant for smaller tanks? It'll be in the same bracket as the A160WE, but I don't think people that are looking at the A360 will consider the AI Prime. It does look like a nice light though and at a nice price point to boot.

I am replacing my a150w with 2 160s on my 18g cadlights in hope to give some SPS more light and reduce a single source of light/shadowing. I didn't go with the 360 because I wanted to light the tank from 2 angles instead of a single point. Its a bit expensive, but I'm hopeful it will keep all sides of the SPS branches colorful in my small tank.

You have a pic of your tank?

I am possibly looking at the A360WE for my 5' 92G (59X20X22). Question is do I need 2 or is 3 overkill? Or just wait for the AP700 whenever they decide to release it, thanks.

Three would work fine depending on your coral stocking for like SPS. If other than that then two would be sufficient.

Also depends on aquascape. If you go with 2 fairly central islands you could put the 2 Kessil over them and likely be good. Not much different at that point than simulating one over a 24" cube. Your edges will be dim for sure though. 3 would be safer.

For those with the new A160WE running with an Apex, how dim can you get them? I have 2 A360WE's and as you guys probably know, it cuts off at around 13% which is still pretty bright. I have a supplemental DIY LEDs that I'm looking to replace with a pair of A160WE's if it dims considerably less then the 360's.

Mine cut off on color at 5% and intensity at 0%

Wow what're your tank dimensions? You're willing to cut out that much light just to be able to dim all the way down to 0?
