Looking great!

Wonder if someone knows the answer to this. I setup my Kessil A360WE a few days ago, and I've been messing with lighting plans on the spectral controller. I have one setup that right now is supposed to have my settings at 80% color and 40% intensity. But if I look on the front of the controller right now it says 74% color and 32% intensity. I'm not running the acclimation program. Any idea why that is?

trmiv, make sure you are looking at the correct port on the screen and that the port is running the correct program that you entered. if its set to manual it will not run the program. Hope this helps

It's correct. I have two programs, and the one I'm running is set to port A. Oddly I just went to check it, and the numbers have changed again, it now says 73% color and 31% intensity. If I set my other program which should be 80% color and 75% intensity as active the display says 73% color and 63% intensity.

What's your light schedule exactly? It sounds like the lights are ramping up unless you made the lights 80%C & 40%I all day long. Post a few pictures of your spectral controller port program

12:30 0/5
1:30 40/20
2:30 80/40
10:30 65/20

According to Kessil it's ramping down 65/20. I didn't know it did that, I thought it just jumped from one level to the next. I wish the manual mentioned that. I'd rather it stayed more constant until the next time period instead of gradually decreasing like it is.

just got a a360we hung it up next to my 350n half my tank is deep purple/blue and the other half is a duller blue . Turned my 350 off as I thought it was just differences between the 2 models . It continued after I unplugged the 350 anybody ever had this issue ?

I have my 2 a360we on a gradual ramp for a more gentle sunrise/sunset. Something like this,
09:00: 5%C 5%I
11:00: 25%C 35%I
13:00: 35%C 50%I
17:00: 35%C 50%I
20:00: 15%C 25%I
21:00: 0%C 0%I

You can make it stay constant by putting the same values in for two points. Here's an example modifying your numbers a bit.

00:00 10/5
00:45 0/0
12:30 0/5
1:30 40/20 -- Delete this line, it is exactly the midpoint between 12:30 and 2:30, if you look at the controller at 1:30 with this point missing it'll be really close to 40/20 since it's already aiming for 80/40 by 2:30pm.
2:30 80/40
9:30 80/40 -- Add this line, it will keep your lights steady from 2:30 to 9:30 at 80/40, then begin ramping down between 9:30 to 10:30
10:30 65/20

Update on DYI moon lights for my 360 WE

Update on DYI moon lights for my 360 WE

I would like to thank the guy on this forum for the DYI idea on the moon lights for the Kessil. I made my unit so that it's removable. Got eveything I needed for under $20.00.Notice: the moon lights in the pic's look brighter than they actually are. It's just the right amount of light. Very happen with the results.Sorry about the quality of the pic's(Phone Camera)

Here are some pic's.

At what intensity and color?

full blue color, with any intensity . Its literally split in half left side purple, dark blue, right side is much lighter blue. I can rotate the light and it changes sides . Im getting to exchange the light but they were out of stock of the w and did not want the narrow , so he let me keep the light until the shipment came in. When I get my camera back I will take a pic

Hi all. I am about to set up a 65 gallon that is 36X18X24. Now this tank will only be lips and softies. Can you help me decide on options. I am for sure going kessill as I have 5 360we on my big tank. Do you think 2 x 160we would be enough or should I just do 2 360we. SPS will never be going in the tank. Its basically going to be a RBTA and invasive corals softies that I am removing from my main tank.

Good idea I'll give this a try. I had no idea the lights ramped up and down when I set it up so this makes a lot more sense

Where you get all the accessories at?

I found a couple DIY moonlight threads and went with the angel eye. Self adhesive disk (for headlights) that fits right on bottom of Kessil w/o protruding. Was supposed to be here yesterday but not here today either. Looks like USPS screwed up and either delayed or lost it. Regardless I'll post some pics when it gets here and I assemble it. I have 5 A360WE's and decided just to do the center light. Some do multiple lights but this is earth and we do have just one moon :lolspin:

They also have white but I went with the 450nm blue. I'll either use a 8-9v AC adapter or an adjustable one. Being for cars they are good in the 12-14v range but supposedly too bright. The adapter will be plugged into Apex and use moon tables.

Hey all! Haven't posted in awhile, all your tanks are looking great! I currently have my kessil at 65% color and 70% intensity over my 20 long. I have a mix of lps, sps. Seeing if anyone has a higher intensity on a small tank like mine. Thinking of increasing another 5% intensity but not sure how things are going to react. Been where it is at for about 5 months now. Thanks!
