Kessil Club

Our 4 X A360W-E Kessil rack is finished. Works great and give us ultimate flexibility in adjusting the lights positions. We are fortunate to have an in-wall with separate support room so overhead space is abundant. The pulley's and rack let us pull the lights to the ceiling during any major maintenance.

We used T-Track and an assortment of T-Nuts, T-Bolts, knobs, stainless hardware, and wire raceway.

Hi guys. For all the Kessil 360 owners with controller, can you tell me what settings you guys leave your light color on??? what %??

Right now, I have my Kessils ramp dusk/dawn effect. During peak day, I set the color to be 70%. It's pretty white. Wondering if this is too much white? should I lower it to around 50% to more blue?

what does everyone else keep it at?

thanks!

Color doesn't matter. It depends on what color you like your tank to look. It's the intensity that makes you or breaks you. My intensity doesn't go higher than 45-50%.

Here is a recommended profile Kessil gave us. I get some flicker down at 15-16 on intensity so I start at 17;

Color
12:00 0%
14:00 20%
16:00 30%
18:00 75%
20:00 25%
22:00 0%

Intensity

14:00 30%
16:00 50%
18:00 50%
20:00 40%
22:00 17%

Working well so far...

Thanks! I did not know that. I thought corals prefer more blue.. (my T5 tank is mostly Blue+)

great! Thanks. I will lower my intensity a bit..

Looking to join the club too:

Planning on a new nano, either a 24x24x12 rimless by Deep Blue or a 30x18x18 by CAD Lights. I figured the A360w would be more than enough for the 24x24, but I'm concerned about dark spots on the CAD Lights tank. The lighting budget is what's going to ultimately decide between the two tank sizes, and would prefer not to have to run two lights on the CAD tank.

Thoughts?

If the lighting price is an issue why not do 2 X 160we lights. Doubt you will need the power of the 360 with the depths you are planning. Two lights will cut down on shadows.

That is trues. It stimulates the zooanthalle.

This brings up a question i have been trying to find an answer to. I would like to see a spectral chart that shows what spectrum\color % these are kicking out from full actinic to full white (the spectrum must change a bit from blue to white) has anyone seen a reported claim or graph of where the spectrum is according to the position of the knobs or according to the controller, at 5%, 10%, 30% etc.... (any\all models would be helpful, but i ask mostly for the 360we)

i would like to tailor my lights to a spectrum and not just by my eye.

*i have spent a good deal of time on the site.

I think led light manufactures should have to produce a full light spectrum photo showing missing bands of the spectrum, smooth graphing above doesn't show this.

With that profile if you're using the VARSPD outlet on the APEX, they never turn off. You have to make the intensity go to 0. Do they turn off using the Kessil controller?

the spectral records shown have 3 different output shifts in them....at what settings would the knobs be to create any of the outputs shown for any determined amount of time....or a different spectral output for that matter; that's what i was asking in the above post.

do you see what i am saying.

Correct. I have a separate timer that provides power to the Kessil's independent of their VARSPD on the Apex.
