This is my 40 breeder (36 wide X 18 deep X 17 high) lit by a single A160WE about 8" off the water. I personally want shadows and some tapering off towards the sides to reduce the boxy look of the tank. But that's me...I'm more interested in the overall look of the aquarium as a whole, than just lighting corals. This pic shows it at about 60% intensity and about 50% spectrum shift. I've since added a zoa way down on the far left, lowest rock and it's doing great.

Zoa (as I bought it and placed in the tank)...

GSP (a little higher and to the right of the zoa)...

And a Goniopora sitting to the right of the GSP in the middle of the tank, again, a little higher (about mid water level...and doing even better now than when this pic was taken)...

Subscribing to not lose track of this great thread.

Just finished setting up a single 360AWE Kessil over my 90gal tank.

I'll be posting a thread with the setup, since there are many details.

It's a long story, but to summarise, I got a single Kessil to try.
It was a toss up between a Kessil or a Radion.

Love/Hated it. At first really regretting going with Kessil over the Radion. Almost decided to sell it.

Then with a few compliments and adjustments it turned out to be the PERFECT replacement for my 150Wx2 MH fixture.

Couldn't be more happier with the decision.

Thanks! I did not know that. I thought corals prefer more blue.. (my T5 tank is mostly Blue+)

great! Thanks. I will lower my intensity a bit..

Corals utilize the Blue Spectrum more than the others.

I only use Blue Lights.

I have 3 LED Tanks that use Kessils (Only Blue No White).

I have 2 T5 Tanks that are each 4 ATI Blue Plus Bulbs with no White Bulbs.

White Looks Ugly Anyways.

just got a a360we hung it up next to my 350n half my tank is deep purple/blue and the other half is a duller blue . Turned my 350 off as I thought it was just differences between the 2 models . It continued after I unplugged the 350 anybody ever had this issue ?

The A350's Are Much Bluer than the A360's

The Original A360's were more Purple in Color.

The Original A360 W-E was more White in Color.

Over time they have changed the lights though.

The A160 is much much more Blue than the A360's but maybe they changed the Lights again.

I have not seen any New A360's.

Hi guys. For all the Kessil 360 owners with controller, can you tell me what settings you guys leave your light color on??? what %??

Right now, I have my Kessils ramp dusk/dawn effect. During peak day, I set the color to be 70%. It's pretty white. Wondering if this is too much white? should I lower it to around 50% to more blue?

what does everyone else keep it at?

thanks!

100 Percent Blue
0 Percent White

I was offered a 150w Deep ocean Blue and was looking for opinions. I've never used a Kessil since i've always been a T5 SPS guy. I'm curious if this would be good as the only light over a 15g sps frag tank. I know its 20k so not really worried about the colot but more if it will be enough for good growth. I can't find much data or reviews on this model and that worries me.

I'm with irasser, I have a sfiligoi t5/led combo. I'd love to have all led and I'm sure someone has posted something but I'm new to the forum and the thread is 30 pages can anyone with an sps dominant tank show pics with these after they have been on the tank 6 months or longer?

Kessil 360WE. Or 360N

Kessil 360WE. Or 360N

I am just putting together a new display tank in the main area of our home. I am going with 30" deep tank. Does anyone have any advise on 360N or would the 360WE get the penitration I will require ? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Some SPS are Fine with a Single A150 (Montipora) but I have had Acros Die on me.

I think Acros Need more light but you should be fine with Non-Acros and that Light.

Softies and LPS will do Great though.

I keep most of my SPS in another Tank under T5 HO and they do much better there.

I do not like LED for SPS.

T5 or Metal Halide is a much Better choice for SPS.

I'm using the WE on my 30" tall tank and light penetration seems just fine.

I doubt the 20K OceanBlue alone will suffice for SPS - I think you'd want the 14K TunaBlue version. FWIW, asking $ for used 150's is absurd. You can get them new for $160. Unless the seller is talking in the $80 range I think you'd be far better off with the controllable 160.

Maybe he wants the A150 and I am sure that it is a good price as it is probably used.

I have both and Prefer the A150 Deep Ocean Blue over My A160

Maybe he feels the same.
