Kessil Club

I have a 360we on a 180 maybe 8 inches off of water at 100% intensity and doesn't seem to be growing much coral. I just put a 250w metal halide next to it and see if corals start looking better, and on the 3rd section of 180 I have 2x ecoray 60d led pretty much those Chinese led boxes and I'm suprised they actually growing stuff.

Be careful... I have tons of growing SPS frags-colonies w/o issues but if you have any monti cap's or digi's it will burn them. Even my huge, grows like a weed, nothing phases it purple cap finally started showing some signs of bleaching. I was at 80p/78c and raised to 85 and have since dropped back to 75/78 just as a precaution and to let them recover.

Hey Guys I am looking for a tank I saw a few weeks ago. It was lit by 5 Kessils to start and then I think he added 3 more. I believe it also had Panorama Pro LED's to supplement in a canopy.

Thanks for any help

Well I went ahead and installed three A160WE's over my 120 and love them. But the main reason for this post is I had some questions about the acclimation program using their controller and I must say, very very fast responses to three different emails. Very impressed with Kessil CS.

Would love to see pictures of them on your 120!

right or wrong

right or wrong

Just got a A150, bought used from a friend of the owner of my LFS, thought I was getting the A160 tuna blue so I was a little disappointed but went ahead and got it anyway. I have a 14 gallon nano. I can't seem to get placement right. If I keep it really low then I don't have any spillover but if I raise it more than 2-3" above the water there is a ton. Does it matter? Is there a right way/ wrong way??

The 150 are a very powerful light, so I would raise it as high as you can, if you get the gooseneck also get the 90 degree adapter. I have a 160 with gooseneck and 90 degree adapter and I have it as high as I can get it. PS Welcome to the club.

Interesting I used to play with my 150 over my 120 tank I know it will work but you will at least 3. Very interested to see how it goes on your tank.

Currently, my lighting is a hybrid 2x250W MH, 4x54 T5, and LEDs (I believe it 150 3w chips, i forgot the ratio though) that I bought off a friend. One string of LEDs burnt out, so I'm looking at removing the LED setup on the fixture and replacing them with the Kessils. My tank is 68 x 32 x 22, looking at keeping easier/more forgiving SPS, as well as nems, zoas, torches and hammers. What kessil and how many should I plan on running?

Not sure if its relevant to the Kessil choice, but the current light schedule is as follows
MH 07-0930
4x54 T5s 0930-1300
LED (and 2x54 LED to use in place of the burnt out blues) 1300-2030

Thanks in advance

Hi guys I've been interested in these lights for quite some time and am finally taking the plunge. If anyone is looking to sell I'd much rather save some $$ and buy used. Feel free to send me a pm. I'm look for 2 a360w with goosenecks possible and a controller.

A few crappy pictures as promised. Lights are at 30% color and 35% intensity. Slowly acclimating my corals to these lights. One other thing, the tank doesn't look as bright as the pictures.

Hey all, asking again for some help!

New to the Kessil club but so far I am happy with them over my new Nuvo 38G Mini.(24Lx13Wx20H I went with 2 A160EW and controller.
This is a new tank as I have recently moved and had to shut down my old custom 93g SPS tank.

I have been keeping all my SPS corals at a friend’s house and they have always been under T5 light. My question is how should I start my SPS under these new lights? They are about 5-6” above the water. Should I start around 40% MAX for a few weeks and move them up? Just wanted some info on what other people have done for their SPS moved from T5 to these lights.
Thanks

Doesn't the spectral controller have an acclimation mode for this type of scenario?

It does.. it was a little strange to play with.Ill have to read up on it abit more and see.

After they have been acclimated, I was thinking a max of 40% but wanted to see what others are seeing. I also might grab a 2 bulb T5 fixture to help out..

You can always start a high light coral in a low light situation. You cannot put a low light coral in a high light situation.

Start low and slow. :)
