Were your readings done in the center of the tank?

Just got a used 350W from here and I am loving it so far. I am replacing a 6 bulb T5. I was getting shadowing on the 57 rimless, so I pulled out an old Odyssea 2 bulb fixture, put an ATI Blue + and Purple + in it and now everything looks so much better.

I also contacted Kessil about purchasing a hanging bolt since the used one was missing it, and they sent me one very quickly in a couple days for free! Really impressed with their service.

I just want to make it perfectly clear for myself.
I have an A360WE and a spectral controller. The color setting makes little to no difference in coral growth/health because of the built in Kessil Logic, so I can pick whatever color is appealing to me be it 0% (blue) or 100% (white) correct? I just have to worry about the immensity % bleaching or otherwise damaging stuff?

I find my coral like color of 50%-0% or basically the blue end of the spectrum.

Here's my thing, I like the color set to 5% or 0% even, but my intensity goes up to 55%. So far my shrooms, GPS, and candy cane are doing good. I'm just trying to make sure they aren't missing something by only getting that 0%-5% color.

Yes and no. Corals get most of the photosynthetic radiation from the bluer spectrum. Adding too much white/color increases the intensity across a broader spectrum. Some of that spectrum isn't useful for the corals. If your intensity is already high, that can cause issues and burn the corals easier. Also, too much white can encourage more nuisance algae growth. My color peaks at 70% on my 360WE's for a max of 4 hours a day at peak intensity times. My peak intensity is 80%.

Thank you both! I’m going to increase my color a little more during peak and keep it blue on both ends of my photoperiod. I’m happy with my intensity if corals are.

After my kessil is turned off for the night, after awhile, all of a sudden the kessil flashes a quick blink and is off till the next morning. What would cause this to happen?

What would you guys suggest to light a 30x24x16 tank? Is the AP700 way too much? Would one A360w do it? Assuming mixed reef to include sps.

I have an AP700 over a 36x18x20 and there's a bit of light spill over the sides at 8" above water level (6" from top of tank). A radion xr30 would do 30x24 well and doesn't require an iPad.

I would want to stick with Kessil, just not sure which one is most suitable. I've got a 160 on my Biocube 29g and really like the look, color and results I get from it.

I don't think you can control the AP700 with a controller like the Apex therefore I'd prefer 2 A360WEs. Also, I like the mounting options (gooseneck) better. One A360WE might work if your rock work with corals is compact. You also could always try one then buy another later.

I have 1 A360WE over my 54 corner bow and a Current Orbit Marine LED strip light across the front. The strip light is mainly for visual appeal and to fill in the darker areas.

I think if I'd need two A360we, I'd just go with the AP700. I use the Kessil controller for my A160 now so no Apex controllability isn't a deal breaker.
