Kessil Club

janci, yes. Manually with the knobs unconnected to the controller the lights are super bright. What I have trouble with is when it's "connected" to the controller. For some reason it just doesn't get bright at all but stays more blue no matter if I ramp up the intensity to 100%. I wonder if it has something to do with the connections, like it's not making proper contact. Anyone know anything? I hate staring at a blue tank but I like the use of the controller. The colors of what little coral I have really pop but I like a more white tank.

Mine is acting same with controller as without and I do not see difference in white scale with the color setting 100%.
I have checked on both output channels of the controller and they are the same result on the fixture.

Are yall in manual mode? If your running a quickset youll have to adjust the numbers in there. Also make sure your cable goes to the input port on the light

Janci, thanks again but I don't think your helping me lol! Yours working the way it should definitely doesn't help my problem. But I appreciate your input. Thanks again.

Stingeragent, thanks. I have tried troubleshooting and even on manual mode it does this and is more blue. But, if I pull out the cables it goes bright. As soon as I place it back in, it's blue again. Maybe it's corroded inside and not making good contact is what I'm guessing.

When the light is not plugged in, it goes off of the control dials, when you are using the controller, as soon as you plug it in, it goes off what the controller is telling it. Try and setup a quick set program, and adjust the values and see if it changes. If not i'd guess you either have a faulty controller, the cable is bad, or maybe the ports it plugs into.

I currently have it running on a quickset timer program I made up. I'm pretty sure it's either the light, cable, or controller. I'll see if I can troubleshoot and use a different cable. The controller is new so I don't believe it that. Sigh, oh well maybe I'll just turn the knobs lol!

Change of subject, is there a color spectrum that is best from the Kessils for acclimation? As in more blue or more white? Naturally the blue light penetrates the water deeper, so I would think that maybe a whiter light would penetrate the water less? Not sure how much this plays into such a shallow tank when compared to the ocean. Thoughts?

I currently have 2xA360WE over my 36" tank. Amazing lights showing very good growth on my corals. Before I bought them, I was waiting for the AP700 to come out. I plan to buy an AP700 within the next couple of months, as it was my first choice to begin with. Either way, you cannot go wrong.

If on a budget, even a pair of A160WE will serve you right on that size tank.

Thanks SixPackGarage for the feedback... I think the A360WE are a little pricey right now... so the 160WE may be the way I go...

I have a 160 from my last tank. I like the light so much, I almost want to start another tank just to use it. It's crazy for only 42Watts consumption (at 100% intensity)

Hi guys

I have one 360WE over my IM Fusion 20 gal. Dims 24x15x13. I had been running the kessil with just the gooseneck at about at height of 8 inches. Max intensity 60%. I didn't love the shadowing with one so I added the 90 adapter to get more height.

The light is now at about 14 inches. I bumped the intensity up to peak at 65%. The shadowing is obviously less the higher the light gets. Pretty happy with it so far but I am curious on the intensity. Thinking about maxing it out at 70%

Anyone else running 360we around 14inches? Note - its probably 24 inches to my sps.

23" deep. lights 7" above. 4x kessil 360we. I can adjust the height of lights and have the kessil controller.

Nice set up. I would say that most at that depth and height are maxing out around 70% but be sure to ramp up. Start at 50% and bump up 5-10%per week.

A bunch of people have posted their schedules. I'd go back and dig through the earlier posts to see what's common.

Hi guys, need your advice. I have a 48x24x24 tank and would like to have 2 islands as my reefscape. I want to keep softies and LPS on 1 island and SPS on the other island. Would a A160WE be sufficient to lit each island? I am afraid that I might melt the softies as I want to put it on the upper part of my tank and leave the bottom for my sun corals.
