Hi all, I am using the A360WE on my tank and after more than 2 months of use, I see more and more faster algae growth on my glass. After 2-3 days I have to start cleaning, which I did not have to do before.
I made some changes in my lighting schedule and intensity lately, but wonder if other face similar problems.
Water parameters are ok.
Salinity @ 1.025
Ammonia @ 0.00
Nitrite @ 0.00
Nitrate @ 5.00
Phosphates @ 0.00 (might be wrong reading due to algae)
Ca @ 420
Mg @ 1290
Alk @ 7.0

Algae growth is mainly on the glass, not on the rocks.

I moved my lights down, forward, and pointed back. My lights are only 6" off the surface but the spread is fine since I'm doing a two mountain aquascape. I hate light spill and this solved it.

I have two 360s on my lil 50g cube setup and since I have kids running around and a newborn that blinding light is an issue. It helped a lot when I just simply moved the light forward and tilted it to face more toward the rear of the tank. In my case, I'm sure the light spread wasn't affected so much. Hope that helps, otherwise you'd probably have to create a pseudo canopy where it just blocks the light from blinding you from the front and sides.

I'm new so excuse me if this has been discussed many times before.

I have a 73 gal. DT with two a360we lights. I only have one Clownfish and 4 new frags (candy cane and zoanthids). Most are at mid tank with one on the sand. What should my light settings look like. I don't have a controller, just my fingers. Both lights are connected together though.

The only thing you can do is just slowly tweak the intensity and color as the day progresses manually with your fingers

Mark the point your light intensity turns on and the end where it stops increasing in brightness. That would be your starting and end points. Turn the knob to the center of those points and mark it as well, I would imagine that to be at 50% intensity. So between that point and your starting point would be 25% intensity and so forth. For the color I would just tweak it as you prefer to mimic the dusk and dawn look or just tweak it until the color of your coral look best to you haha! For those coral pieces you have I don't imagine you'd need to have your intensity passed 50%. At least my tank hasn't gotten over that intensity yet and I have a few zoos, acan, two wall hammers, a red cap and some others. So maybe divide the first half into four parts and increase it by one part as the day goes. Hope that helps lol! I did the same until I got a controller. If you can afford to 360s I'm sure can afford a controller

Get the controller and the link cable should be around $120 and it will run both lights the same.

Right on! It may not be a light issue if its softies. Try feeding more. How's the controllability on the a350

I posted on here a while back a question regarding acclimating corals to leds and was advised to raise the intensity little by little and back off when seeing negative signs.

What are the negative signs that would show for softies/lps/sps that I should be looking for?

I noticed some of my mushrooms didn't open up all the way, so I moved them down to different locations and knocked down the intensity about 10%. I think if you have the patience, start from around 50% and work up maybe 5% per week or two

I'm very excited to pick up my Kessils tomorrow. I'm picking up 3 used A360W Tuna Blues tomorrow to use on my 48 x 30 x 30 tank.

One thing I wasn't able to find after doing a search is any custom mounts people have done. If there's any on here, could you please share? I don't really want to use a canopy, and my tank is eurobraced, so I don't believe the Goosenecks would work.

Personally I would only use 2 of them. As far as mounting them the gooseneck clamps only open up 3/4" or so. I would go buy some shelf mounts and hook them to the end if the tank is near a wall.

I mounted my A360 to the Solana disco ball arm. Conveniently, the power and control wires could be run through the metal tube. I used a simple eye bolt and a carabiner (black of course!) to attach the Kessil:

Haha no off a local forum. He had a tank he decided not to setup.

One light, 48 x 30 x 30 tank. The shimmer and spread is awesome. Don't mind the half full, no aquascaped tank. I've been slowly working on setting up tank during an emergency tank swap (old tank burst)

I switched from T5's to 3 360w's . I Thought I should keep the intensity down low and the color down towards blue for the first couple of days. I'm told now that the blue is actually more intense? and that acclimation time should be much longer? I'm still not sure of the reason but at around the same time, I lost a beautiful large gorgorian, 3 different large colonies of Xenia and a goniopora. Are these corals that would be affected by the lights more than others?

Color doesnt matter on the 360 its more for looks watch the intensity start at 20% and go up 5% increments every 2 weeks until you get to around 60% .. I made the same mistake you did too much too quick..And if you have zoas and they suddenly stay closed turn down the intensity

Gutted my old hybrid t5/mh/led fixture to throw in the 3 kessils. It's all temporary for now while I clean up my whole setup.

Question: is resting the kessils directly onto acrylic bad?
