@got2envy. Love your tank. Fantastic colors and great looking Lps dominant scape. Well done. Proof that the a350 can get the job done.

Deefish714. Depends on if you value controllability. You could pick up two a350w units for cheap. There would be some light spill because your tank is narrow and short, but that would be affordable because they go for cheap on the used market. If your budget is limitless I'd get an ap700. If you can spend a bit and want controllability, id get two a160we units due to the fact that your tank is so short you won't need the power and punch of the a360 units.

The tuna blue has a dominant broad spectrum blue/violet array of diodes, with enough white diodes in there to balance it visually, designed for reef tanks. The tuna sun is predominantly a white mixture between 6000k and 10000k with very few blue (if any) diodes, designed for freshwater planted tanks, lagoon macro tanks, or refugiums.

I love this light! Let me know how high off the water you are what intensity you plan on running. Looks like you got some sps in there

Just update: the light is 6" off the water surface. Currently running 40% max intensity. I plan to ramp it up over time if needed.

Nice! I'm at 80% about 15" off the water line. I need to invest in a par meter for sure

I bought my Neptune PMK (par unit) on a whim because I thought I could have fun with it & learn more about my lighting.. I didn't realize what an important tool it is until switching lights.. and not knowing how ridiculously more powerful the AP700 is in comparison to the A360WE

Does AP700 make corals color pop a bit more than 360we?

How much PAR-difference is there?

Definitely brings out colors that I didn't know my corals had.. super satisfied with that.

currently with the AP at 40% max intensity, my AP is pushing about the same PAR as my 360WE were pushing at 95% with color down around 30% on the 360

Not sure if the color setting on the 360 had anything to do with PAR.. never really played with that.

I thought I was safe running the AP at around 80%, but my corals were begging for mercy.. I've lowered it 10% every day until now being at 40%, everything is happy again.

My PAR sensor is in the same location in the tank as before, never touched it besides cleaning it about once per week.

Hi All,

Had the AP700 running for 24 hours and already it's playing up. Plug it in and the power light goes on but nothing happens. Was running fine to start with but now this, Is there anyway to hard restart the unit. I have a gut feeling this is software related.

Cheers

First, are you up to date on the latest software? If not you have to plug usb from light fixture to computer and download the update via Kessil website. Also make sure the iPad app is up to date.
If you've done this already, I believe you can reset the fixture by hitting the down arrow and the + together. Just be aware that if you do this you will lose all your programs that you made.

Thanks,

All latest firmware was updated when I first purchased the unit. I deleted the app and the light worked again. Seems to be working OK so far (after re-installing the app), lets see how it goes today (fingers crossed). Looking forward to Kessil improving the software for the light.

My few problems with the light are as follows:

1. Lunar light, its too bright IMO. I hope Kessil fix this.
2. My fan stays on 24/7 even when the LEDs are off. To turn the fan off I have to power the unit down.

Other than that IMO the light of the unit is by far the best LED I have seen to date. Your can't beat the kessil shimmer.

Cheers

I have the same towel rods in my bathroom. I'm all for ingenuity but personally I like the Kessil gooseneck better. I just put a cable cord cover over my arms and don't see anything.

To each their own!

For the price of the light the gooseneck should be more polished and professional IMO. I really dislike any trace of wires

I'm sorry for the #lazypost but with 60 pages of thread I can't find my answer. The Kessil with some sort of flexibly-rigid arm seems like exactly what I need. My question is: for a 65g (18" deep, 36" long, 20" wide) how many and which size should I use? Ideally, I'd like to just have the Kessil(s), but have a couple other LED strips that I can supplement with.

Also, has anyone a recommendation for the kind of arm I'm describing? I had an office lamp a long time ago with a flexible arm...
