I sent BRS a note to see what the intensity of the test was. I highly doubt it was 100% intensity. 80 par at 18 deep seems pretty inconsistent with what everyone else sees with these lights.
I'll post when I hear back. They are just down the road from me.
The answer to that is in the question section,
Yup, each channel to 100%, verified via the software, PAR, and wattage. The mesh might have a minor effect on PAR (depending on size), but it likely wouldn't be noticeable.

Have my 2 Kessil A360WE for more than a year now . I found my kessil is good to my LPS but my SPS seems to be not so happy .
As it took me too long to have my canopy or lights racks rebuild so I loss on SPS which I am not sure if this is related to the low distance between my Kessil and water surface or because of other reason.
Just right now I have my lights rack build and my Kessil is hanging around 28 cm above water level. I have move down my Digi from the rocks because it getting brown then but now eighth after my moving it down to the base glass it start getting back its green colors and PE too.
I wonder if my color and intensity is too strong that can cause my SPS getting brown then die off ?
Here are some data to let you guys out there help me analyze:
1) intensity ;
2) Colors;
As you guys can see my max colors and intensity reached 70-72 % , is this too much considering the depth of my DT? Any advise if I need to bring it down further ? I am also thinking of both Kessil are place too close to each other ?
My other lights is 4 ATI - T5 bulb. Purple plus (2) , aqua blue special (2).
My new lights racks :
My tank depth is 60 cm , length is 90 cm , width is 60 cm.

So I have 1 360 WE over my 24" deep tank. It's about 10" off the water.
My question is. Will that work for SPS or do I need to get it closer to the water?

it is made of the Aluminum frame that we normally use for our aluminum sliding windows and doors.

Stupid question. But whats the label on the x-axis and y-axis? Is this a top down view of the tank?

14' Reef with double bow end tanks Kessil 360's controlled through Control4 Home automation. www.control4.com complete control over programming and also manual control by 2 switches on the wall, one color, one intensity. Also controlled by any smart phone.

I think you have good lights and placement of them! If you want acros put hem in the middle of the tank. If you raise intensity really slow you can probably max out Kessils at 100% for the light hungry acros. Going slow with the intensity is the secret for success.
I have run two Kessils 360we for half a year at 100% most of the time on a tank of your size. To solve the shadowing problems I have put the Kessils on a rail and a motor drives them back and forth. I will now try to add a third Kessil to better acro growth. My backup plan, if three Kessils isn't enough is to replace that third Kessil with an ati 4x39w t5.
With regards to your T5 choice I would almost max out the blue. The color settings in Kessils are nearly only for viewing. The spectrum is good for corals regardless of setting. Why did you choose those tubes? Standard choice for corals would be 2 blue+ and 2 coral+.

I've found acros and any sps take forever to adapt to Kessil's imo. I have one acro living on the sand right now that enjoys 35% intensity and 40% color for four hours. Yeah, that low. Water chemistry stability trumps my light settings though.

The one I have is doing great so far. Great polyp extension and no browning out. It's on the bottom of my tank and I'll move it when I see some growth. My Stylophora is in the shade under an overhang not doing much, but has good polyp extension.
I had a branching hammer bleach out on me recently and moved it to the shade. No improvement. Moved it to a sunnier area and it's double the size it was and I don't feed it so I have no clue what it's issue was. :lol:

I know this question wasn't directed to me, but I posted some growth shots of a couple of acros and other SPS in my build thread if you want to see.
I'm new to acros, so I don't know what the growth rate is supposed to look like, but I'm seeing some growth anyways..

I figured I would share some growth shots of my tank under the Kessil 360WE's. I run 8 of them on my 4'x8'x2' tall 480g display with no other supplemental lighting. My lights sit about 8" above the water. My tank is a mixed reef with soft coral, LPS and some SPS. In my tank, all my coral grows like weeds.
For reference, this is my intensity and color graph.
These are some SPS frags that I got a few weeks ago.
This picture was taken 3 weeks ago when I got it.
This was taken about 10 days ago and you can see that there are a bunch of new tips growing on almost all the tips of it. It's also coloring up nicely.
This was taken 4 days ago. I can see this coral becoming out of control in a real hurry at the rate it's growing.
Another birds nest 2 weeks ago.

This is a pair of monti cap frags. Picture taken beginning of October.
Picture taken 4 days ago. They've grown a number of inches in length since the above photos and have joined into one larger coral.
This thing is doing really well too.

Pretty much no new coral additions short of some SPS frags that were very recent and along the back wall. What you see is pretty much 100% growth of the last couple years.

your posting seems to be very encouraging to me as I recently having some doubt about my 2 Kessil A360WE. at first I thought it is burning my corals, that goes brown and die off. well, before my new stand arrived, I indeed have my kessil hanging around less than 20 cm above water surface but now I have it hang around 27 cm which I think it will permanently place that way.
Now, I have to figure out what else causing the die off if not becasue of the lights!
based on my posting on the setting, any advise if I have to make some adjustment?

Best advice I can give is to take it slow. I've been running LED's for 5 years now and when I switched to Kessils from the Reef Tech LED's I matched color and PAR and then backed my par off 10% from what the Reef Techs were putting out. I then raised the Kessil intensity from there about 5% a month to where I am now. One other thing is that the SPS frags that I put in my tank were grown under LED before I got them which makes a big difference because they are already used to LED's. I placed them up high in my tank in permanent positions and they took off immediately. SPS grown under halide or from the ocean may not respond the same way. As such, your results may vary. On that note, last bit of advice I can give is to get corals or frags that are aquacultured (were grown in a tank) and not ones collected from the ocean. And ideally ones that were grown under LED to insure the best chances of them thriving.
