Anyone compare to pair of a360we?

I took PAR readings before I switched from a pair of 360we to the AP. At 40%, the AP was the same PAR as the 360s were at 95% from where I took my measurements. The light was about 5-6" above the surface and the sensor about maybe 8" below the surface. Details are in my blog. The AP is way more intense.

Currently have the Mars Aqua LED's over a 17 gallon SPS tank.
Pulled the trigger on the Kessil A360WE , should be delivered today, can't wait to get it set up.

You will love it!

New Kessil A360WE is installed

Now the big question........How slow do I go ? Currently on the lowest intensity.

SPS dominant 17 gallon tank previous light was a Mars Aqua 165w

I increased my lighting intensity by 5% every month, until I found the sweet spot.

I agree, 5% increase a month. Just be patient, it takes a little time with these lights, but well worth the wait. Welcome to the club!

How much do you think glass tops effect PAR? I put them on my 65g to help with heat as my apartment is kept at about 60-65 in the winter. Currently have my 360's set to 49% for max intensity for about 4hrs a day

For the sake of sharing one, here is what I've been playing with the last couple of weeks. Its to early to tell if it will work but I took the stock program and and adjusted a little.

I've got my AP700 sitting 7" from the surface of the water. Kessil recommended 5-7" for a 36" wide tank. I don't think the program I had is working out. My montipora and stylophora are starting to bleach out..

I've changed to this for now, but 30% max intensity on Ocean Blue seems kind of low doesn't it?

I would think so at first glance. But don't be fooled at the number because they are very powerful lights. Especially when so close to the water. At the end of the day, if you're getting growth and color at 30% why change

I have a 55 gal with 2 a360we's and I run them full power most of the day. 1 hour ramping up to 100%, 10 hours at 100%, 1 hour ramping back down to zero. I have never had issues with burning or anything like that. I run a mixture of softies and sps, mostly sps. I did not "ramp up" to 100% when I got my lights 8 months ago, I went to 100% right away. Anyway, a couple of pics of my little reef:

Thanks for looking, Tim

Has anyone here ran there kessil light 24 hours a day but with strictly blue light? I met a fellow the other day that told me he runs it all the time set as blue as it can go and gets great growth. I figured running it as white as it would go would yield fastest growth.

The white spectrum is mostly for the appearance of brightness. The blue spectrum is what the corals get most of their needed photosynthetic radiation from. As far as running the blue 24/7, that's just silly and does nothing good for the corals. They need a break from the light too.

I find that highly unorthodox and probably totally unnecessary. I'd keep it at 12 hour light cycle and call it good. I've played around with going white on my Kessils and the only thing I noticed is more algae growth. I keep it pretty much on the blue side unless I'm taking photos.

Hey there folks . Im interested in changing from my t5s to a kessil 360w . Tank dimension is L 24 W 15 H 20 inches. Will one a360w be enough? I have a few softies and lps . Thanks in advance

Yes, one A360w/n will be enough. You could go with two A160we's also.
