Kevin's 8.4g Harse Design Build

With the Siporax you plan on using is there a major advantage over other ceramic bio medias (matrix, eheim, fluval, ect.)?

So far what I've read, there is no advantage between them, but I will be using the seachem matrix. All of them do their job, but seachem matrix seems to help a lot controlling your nitrates according to the thread tweaked linked.

That's what I picked up from that thread as well. I have some generic media in the overflow box of my frag tank but wanted to up the volume. I think I will grab a few micron bags and add matrix to the mix.

I really like your setup so far, can't wait to see what makes the cut for your gem tank!

I was thinking on putting my matrix between two poly fiber pads like a sandwich. Thanks, we'll see once the cycle is all over.

Not all are created equal. Ceramic is less porous than the siporax and matrix. So you can get away with less needed for beneficial bacteria to live which is key when using smaller tanks.

Spoken like a True Reefer Of the Month!

Good stuff brodda.

What cycle take a rock from my fuge and some of my display water for a water change and boom cycle complete. Lol

Franky we know your levels of your display, come on lol. I'll be adding stuff in as soon as I get my light.

Let's do this!!!!
