Killer Shrooms

Ok guys, I have two giant hairy frilly mushrooms if anyone wants one or both of them. One of them has grown so big that it is touching my pagoda cup and burning it pretty bad. These are the healthiest and largest shrooms I have ever seen. Most of you have seen them before.
By the way, how do I get these guys off the rock???

I think that they are called elephant ear mushrooms. They are also very good fish eaters. I would try cutting them off with a razor blade and then kalk pasting any amount left on the rock.

Well, they haven't eaten my fish yet. Matter of a fact, the watchman gobie will sometimes lay right on it.
Do you think squirting some hot water on it will make it release?

Man, if it was just that easy. I put hydnapora on it. Nothing, but the hydnapora got smoked. I am just going to rip it out. Or at least try. I just hate to kill them because they are so healthy. My very first coral too.

take a turkey baster and puff water under its foot repeatedly during the day. It will ultimately get annoyed and turn loose. If you try to cut it off, you will only succeed in growing another one.
If you could possibly remove the whole rock, you might be able to deal the healthy specimen to your lfs or another reefer, getting credit not only for the shroom, but for the live rock. You could then purchase another live rock to replace it.

Ok, I found out something. They don't like 10 CCs of Kalk paste injected into em...

Ok, that did it... It was almost gone this morning completely. The Kalk mix did the trick. Pagoda cup is happy again.
