Nice tank. Congrats on getting water in it so quickly! My 360g has been sitting dry for months, but will one day have some water and maybe even fish in it

What do you have set up (or planned) to handle humidity?

Very nice! That tank has some really nice dimensions to it. Can't wait to see that skimmer working, that thing is huge. You must be the first one on this forum that has a dedicated fishroom, no?

I did a double take when I walked in the work room and saw that fat freakin stump of a skimmer.

I purchased a dehumidifier off eBay this weekend. There is definitely a lot more humidity from this tank and sump. I may also get some sort of cover for the sump during the cooler months.

I am going to try and get the skimmer going tonight. I get some pics when I do.

Cool. When I did the math on mine I figured 4-5 gallons a day of evap.

Which Euroreef is that?

Looks like an RC500 to me, but ER has changed their models so much over that 2-3 years, I could be wrong.

That skimmer should be pretty easy to get up and running.

Are you planning on feeding it from your drain? Or are you going to use a feed pump?

It is an RC500. I was going to feed from my drain, but was having a hard time figuring out how to go from 1-1/2" to 3/4" and have the rest just go to the sump without making tons of noise and splashing. Any ideas?

Well, its really hard to say w/out seeing the plumbing, but the idea is to T the drain off so that some flow goes to the skimmer and the rest to the sump. I would reduce the 1.5" drain down to 3/4" and use a hose barb and vinyl tubing to connect to the skimmer. Make sure you have a union somewhere in there to disconnect for cleaning.

To quiet down the water that doesn't go into the skimmer, just direct that drain in a filter sock, at least thats how I did mine

Can I see a picture or a diagram of your plumbing? That would definitely help!

Well, figured it was about time for an update. All the corals are now in the tank and I have replaced the lighting with a PFO fixture that has 3 400W radium bulbs and 2 VHO. I am really liking the MH again. The corals seem to be adjusting nicely and I don't have to turn on lights in the family room!

Thanks Herman. I was trying to get away from the wall look, but when I look at the pics that is exactly what it looks like. In person it doesn't seem so much like a wall, just a bit - I think I need a 4' wide tank so I can make a pathway down the middle length wise. 8O

I love MH also. I love my 250W Radiums how are the 400watters?

They are great. I think I could use either and may go to the 250's later, but these are working well.
