Kim's 360 gallon Reef build thread

Kim,
Awesome new tank and fish room...super jealous over here in Napa ;). I'll be following along on the build. I look forward to coming and seeing it in person when it is all set up. I'll bring a nice tank warming gift :D.

Ohhh, more inspiration to get it done. Alecia, come by anytime, even with tank warming gifts. :)

I haven't decided on doors. Possibly way down the line.

Thanks Mike! I had this awesome guy bag them for me . . .

:) - I have painted the walls and ceiling - they are antique white. Nothing exciting. I had to patch the concrete floor and it will be ready to paint tonight. It will be a kind of sea green color. I will get pics as soon as it is done. I also put the bulkheads in and got all the plumbing parts ready.

One thing I need to do is put a baffle in my rubbermaid sump. The part I am not sure about is how to do that around the inside since it is not straight, but has a ridge around the middle. Anyone done this or seen it done? It is the rubbermaid stock tank, 100 gallons.

Kim, not sure if you mentioned it, but what are your plans for flow? Closed loop or powerheads? Also, are you going BB, SSB or DSB?

I will have a tunze wavebox and 4 6100's on a controller. I am going to do a ssb in the tank and have a remote dsp.

I am trying to work out putting my solaris on it. I don't think I can work it out without adding some additional light.

Mark, those are beautiful. Did you say you wanted to get them for me as a new tank gift :)

I have my bluejaw triggers, but I think the juvenile is becoming a male. Such a bummer. I just bought an emporer angel juvenile for the new tank. I am very excited about it. I am also have been stocking up on wrasses.

Update on tank: I finally got the floor in the fish room painted tonight. I will get some pics when it dries. Tomorrow, hopefully, I will start with some plumbing. I started putting ro into the tank as of 9pm last night and so far have about 3" in. It is going to take awhile to fill . . . .
