Kreeger's DSA 135 build thread

This tank I picked because of the extra height I wanted for the landscape I'm envisioning. The tank is made by a company in Texas, DSA, and the dimensions are 48.5' by 24.5" wide and 27.5" tall or 135 gallons.


The sump is custom made by aquatica


Lighting will be 2 AI Hydra's with 2 t-5's. I'm a big believer in needing to supplement led's


Flow will be 2 wp25's one wp 40 and one vortex mp 40 , so far that is


Keeping the water changes clean is my xmas present


The skimmer was bought on the Black Friday special from bulk reef, the vertex omega 150 cone skimmer.

That's about all ive got for now, this has been in the works for the past 6 months. Lots of changes have been made since then
Construction is probably a month away due to work load right now

Are you planning to start with dry rock and dry sand to avoid any unwanted pests?

Tagging along. Love the tall tank, you can do so much with them and they look great when the corals fill in. I wouldn't trade my 30" tall for anything.

Painted the back of the tank black, 3 coats from the sample size container at Home Depot. Also picked up a bubble Magnus doser last week for 2 part plus mag

Built the frame work for the stand, hoping to get some paint on it in the next few days

What's your process on cleaning the rocks? I've seen a few different ways to do it.
