Ktars Corals

So, stopped out at KTar's place to take some photographs of his corals....next time need to bring a top down box with me. Shooting from above the water without one does not give the sharpest images.

This one was the piece that my son, daughter, and I all liked the most. This shot really does not do it justice, the eye of this watermellon is simply awesome looking

This unidentified piece has some possible worms/dusters/crab like items living in each "eye"...Think I want a piece of this as well.

Ktar will have to answer that one, as I went through taking shots of the many corals he has this one stood out simply due to the number of colors and the patterns of swirls. Of course looking at it in the viewfinder of the camera I was seeing this and then looking for the frag with the naked eye with so many corals around could not find it.

Chris, these were all taken with the D3 and 105mm macro lens. They are actually a bit soft for my taste, but all were taken from above the water line looking down so there is all that refraction and whatnot happening (not too mention reflection from the lights off the surface)

no gary that not the melting pot. It a new frag i just pick up. Kurt we will have to wait on that chalice i want it to grow out just a little before i frag it.

i run 250 mh 20k radium bulbs with some led attinic.

this is the melting pot it not in the greatest shape but after 8 long months it start to grown again and starting to color up. I can't wait until it color all the way to it original state.
