L/F salt mixing pump

Im looking to replace my current saltwater mixing pump whitch I need to be able to also pump water from the basement up to DT.I believe its about 15' total run.

I ve used a mag 7 for this but it takes 2.5 hrs for it to refill 20-25 gals so I'd like to find something with a bit more power, that would shorten the downtime to 5- 15minutes or thereabouts.
Anyone have something they'd recommend or want to part with? I'll leave it open to your preference of coral trade off,cash ,paypal ,shipped, whatever works.Thanks.

I don't have anything spare laying around but if I were in your shoes and looking for something like that, I'd look for a gen-x mak4. They have really good head pressure, they're cheaper than similar options (i.e. iwaki), and they're common enough that they pop up on the classifieds every once in a while for dirt cheap (I've seen them go for $50 but $75 is probably more typical).

Yeah I was looking in the selling foum and missed out on a couple deals but lately it seams so many people are either selling something or getting out I thought Id shop local first.

Yep, thats one of the pumps I hope to find.Not really concerened on power consumption just something to work better than I got now.

you are moving water at about 10 GPH right now. The mag7 comes in at 30GPH at 12 feet of head pressure. to go to 10 minutes would would need to be at 150GPH.

Have you thought about keeping that for mixing and using another pump to move water? You could leave the smaller pump running all the time and not have the electric usage of a larger pump.

a mag 12 would put you at about 287 GPH (5 min) with 3/4" line - if you go to 1" 335GPH (4.45Min), 1 1/4" 361GPH (4.1 Min)

I'm not really a fan of Mag pumps anymore [especially external use], but they are readily available and handle head pressure better [on paper] than the quiet one pumps I like. I'm assuming you want a pump you can drop in versus external...

I took my mag12 back out of service so you can borrow it if you want a test run with it.

Solid advice pascal,and thanks for doing the math it seems to be spot on,and
the idea of using a less wattage pump for mixing, good tip.

I think what my plan entails is to mix fresh saltwater for 24 hrs and after that it will sit idle until Im ready to use it,thn just before use remix it to get o2 ect back to equillibrium.As I understand it as long as the salt mix doesn't contain organics,like vitamins I assume , its ok to do it this way and there shouldn't be a bacterial bloom to worry about.

So Im really only planning to use the pump to mix and waterchange replacement weekly/biweekly.For the most part its not really going to be used much and the reason Im not to concerened about wattage.
I appreaciate the loan offer but Im looking for something permenant,if you decide to sell it Ill take it just let me know what you want for it.

I conducted this experiment accidentally when the power head circulating my already mixed power head got unplugged. The water got nasty, though it was witting for a while

Assuming the head loss calculator is accurate a mag9 will put you just under 10 minutes with 3/4" line - assuming 12 feet of vertical head
