Who's using LaMotte Ca test kit?

Hey there.. i just got a LaMotte Calcium testkit. Is kinda confusing for me. I followed the instructions(if i'm right) it saids... add 0.5 of tank water. then dilute it with distilled water to 12.9ml. add 6 drops of sodium hydroxide reagent and mix. add one tablet of the purples pills(CHIT) mix until turn to red. then fill up the plunger w/ reagent #7 to the 0 line. then swirl/mix with everydrops of #7 until it turns to blue.. and whatever the results comes out to multiply by 5.16.. My Ca reading is 40. thats 206.4????? and i have a calcium reactor. 2 drops of co2 per sec.. is just too fishy..

this part i really dont understand.. on the botton of the instruction it saids..

EXAMPLE: Large ring is 3 minor divisions below line 80. titrator reading is 80 plus (3 divisions x4) equals 92. Multiply by 5.16. test result is 474.72..

HELP PLEASE.. ?????? haha

Hello Rick, i have the same issue with the test kit but i notice one error . It said " add 1mL using .5mL (measuring thingy) twice or x2"

thank you reefer714 i did miss that part. i just did another test it w/ 1ml of tank water. the result came out to 80. x5.16 = ca 412.8. should i just ignore what the example says.. 80=474.72? who's good in math?? haha

I hope someone can answer that question for both of us. My Salifer read 400 but my LaMotte read wayyy higher.... I will get the Elos to confirm (more money)

You are not reading the example right Rick


EXAMPLE: Large ring is 3 minor divisions below line 80. Titrator
reading is 80 plus (3 divisions x 4) equals 92. Multiply by 5.16. Test result is 474.72.

It is not 80 in the example but 80 + (3x4) = 92 and or 92 x 5.16 = 474.72. If it was only 80 and no other additional divisions then your 412.8 is correct.

Your kit is the MODEL CA-DR • CODE 3609 correct.

What kit do you guys have they have like 6 of them

Some of them can test for Total Hardness plus Ca++ Hardness. You subtract the difference and get Mg++Hardness. TH - Ca ++ Hardness = Mg++ Harndness. . 3 kits in one. TH, Ca++ and Mg++

WoW. thats sounds fun for me:rollface: maybe is more convineces? does their # comes out correct? Yup i have code 3609 . am i in the right track?
