Large angels in a reef

I am fairly tempted to a regal.
I had a sad experience with an imperator. the night i put him in he munched down 3 blastos. out he went.

and i don't like the navarachus very much...

interesting, i have a friend who has a tank with a bunch of balstos and fully grown Emperor which he grew from a juvi and he doesnt touch anything.
The key is starting them as young as you can.

therre are alot of factors involved but one of the most important would be clean water turn over. either from evaporation or from water changes.

What do u mean "clean water turn over. either from evaporation or from water changes"

I don't understand what u mean...

had experience with the imperator. he seemed pretty "reef safe" untill he found out we had a red brain. the thing got torn apart like he was trying to relieve his pain by tearing something up. is blue face angel reef safe? i now prefer it to the imperator so i need to know if it would touch any invert

Well whats the thoughts on the queen ? I believe their are different types right ? Lke form different seas ? Because I don't have 15000 for a Conspiculatous LOL

I have a bitty bitty emperor in my tank. It is mostly sps. He picked at sps polyps quite a bit. But it never seemed to damage the coral. I have noticed that the favorite snack sps now retract their polyps until the night time. colonys are all fine. As the emp. has become a little larger it seems more interested in the prepared food. I am hopeful that this fish will be a good tank member for many many years.

I had a French Angel at one point. It liked to pic on the corals every now-and-again, but not aften enough to cause damage or make it noticable. I also had a flame angel in the tank. There were not problems, then again, issues between a full grown angel and pigmy rare.

Yean but see i 'm looking for results with softies and lps because all i have in the tank now are some zoo's shrooms and leathers , oh and a torch coral

I have Had Blueface and now an Emperor with SPS, LPS, Zoos, Clams and they have never bothered anything! I FEED A LOT many times a day. And wet skim. never had a problem. But I don't know about a Queen Angel

Mar:rollface:

i just put a 1.5" JUVI imperator in my reef today. I've got lots of meaty lps and zoos and mushrooms. Right now i feel like gambling. haha. hope he just sticks to spectrum food. i'll keep you guys posted.

Here is my Transitioning EMP! Great personality.

I have a 90g with a maroon clown, dragon gobie and a bi-color angel. would a emporator angel be too much? I also have a few scattered inverts but no more fish.
