Largest Anemones in Captivity?

What's the largest anemone you've seen in captivity? I have seen RBTAs that were at least 15 inches in diameter and taller than that.

There's also a huge (100s of gallons) anemone/clown tank at the Long Island Aquarium. It was literally full of anemones. Wall to wall. I haven't been there in a few years though and don't remember individual sizes or species. I'm almost positive they were BTAs but couldn't say for sure.

Anyone else?

I know its not big, but my sebae is about 9-10" dia. One of rbtas is 4-5"dia, other is 7-8"dia.
The owner of a fish store by me said he has a friend who had a h. magnifica anemone that grew to 2' round!

My buddy Greg (owner of cultivatedreef.com) has these in this main display

Forgot how big his tank is, I think 180, but the green one is at least 20" across.

I had a sebae (H. crispa) that was about 20" across stretched out

Also had a mertens carpet that was over 24" across.

Omgoodness those are some big anem's, have u guys had any problems with missing fish? Just curious..

My gigantea was about 2' at the time of this video. The clowns have one side of it withdrawn though. I haven't been feeding as much so its around 20" or less right now.

This monster obviously isn't an anemone, but it still impressed me when I ran into it at the National Zoo. I'm betting a pair of clowns would love to call it home.

I remember Alfie (Albano) used to have a 2 foot RBTA in one of his tanks right next to a 2 foot toadstool. He had to put plexiglass between the two because they were both so enormous and the RBTA was stinging the toadstool

How old was the sebae? How big was the tank the carpet was in?

The sebae was 20 years old. It was in a tank in my classroom. One summer they turned off the A/C without telling me and the warming water damaged the anemone. It didn't kill it outright, but weakened it to the point where it died about 4 months later. At the time (as near I could figure) it was the oldest sebae in captivity. I think there are others as old or older now.

The carpet was in a 48" 50 gal tank. The pic was taken before it had reached its full 24" diameter.
