Well, here I go again :)
Moved here in May 2013, have had reef tanks since 1989. Thought I could do the move without a tank.... ha!

120g (4x2x2). Not much room, but squeezing in the 120 (my favorite is 180 6x2x2) but this will work :).

I am a Zeovit user from the past so will go with that again. Had good success so will continue. I have been gathering stuff so:
120g 4x2x2
38g sump Acrylic
Will run 2 100micro filter socks (I change out every day)
JNS SK2 Skimmer
Vertex 1.5L Zeovit Rx
Coralvue ATO
Panworld 100PX (thanks planefantic)
Tunze wavebox and WP25 circulation
Reefbreeders photon 48 LED (Have my trustworthy MH for backup!)
Reefkeeper Elite Controller with pH, Temp, 2x energy bars, switch inputs
Float switches - High Level overflow Box, High Level Sump, Low Level Sump, Skimmer overflow High Level
Durso Overflow
Spectrapure RO/DI
Red Sea Regular salt (I like to use a salt with 7-8 Alk) because of the ULNS of Zeovit)

Prolly 2 weeks before up and running. Got to do foam back wall and cure, carbon cure for a week and then ready to "rock" :)

I will update a little each evening as I build up :)
any advise appreciated for sure. I have been doing this awhile, but I learn something new everyday!!!

Looks like a sweet set up! What are your stocking plans?

sps mainly on corals. Fish, I have my favorites (couple PJ Cardinals, Percs, sailfin, CB butterfly) but always open to suggestions for sure. Looks like a lot of great reefers here in TB area and looking to join the local club for advise and "support system". I do admit, I still like many of the softies and LPS as well. Always give and take as when you do the ULNS, seems like some items just don't do as well.

Largo people are stepping up their game lol. Looks like a really awesome build. Can't wait to see this thing running.

i can't wait either. I tend to try and keep things simple best i can, but this is an expensive "sport" and i have already joined Reefers Anonymous ..... yes, I have an addiction and I know it :)

Added the Durso and the return lines tonight in the overflow box. Started a little more rough in below in sump area with the return line. Haven't glued the underside yet and need to provide hangers as well. The two valves are basically for whatever (reactor, backup pump, water change, etc). Also worked on the background (foam wall with a few ledges). Hope to have the background coated with epoxy and sand covered tomorrow.
Strange fitting on the 1" bulkhead return to overflow, the fitting is not even snug. Hope it's the sched 40 fitting and not the bulkhead. I will play with that in the morning with a piece of 1" pipe to see what (or who) the issue is!

ok, moving along :)

changed pump to tank line a little, added return from durso to sump. Still need to fab the holder for the filter bags, but you can get the idea.

Got my Photon 48 LED. Cut out the hood to fit. Just right height and I think I will like this light. Great value, great warranty (2 years includes shipping as well) .... we will see :).

Finishing up rock background. Still need to do the overflow cover (in process now). Used pond foam and gorilla glue as in the past, never had any issues with it. covered with Aragonite.

will fill with RO/DI this weekend and start running carbon and maybe something for phosphate, again, I will see where I am at before adding gfo.

Thinking about just starting with local cured rock, but then I think about local collected (Tbs or Gulfview). any opinions?

getting there!

that setup looks really cool I like the wall you built....just wondering is that safe with the top frame missing around the overflow, and is the black overflow and glass overflow box going to collect detritus in between the two?

Tank should be fine with frame, came that way. I have had three tanks built by them (glass cages) and no problems over the last 15 years, so hope so!!!

black overflow will be siliconed to glass and sealed at top, bottom and ends. I have run this config before and was able to seal it well

ok, pretty much ready to add water. Just need silicon to sit for a few days then "GO!". Rock wall background done, everything added (except one float switch). Sorry for the crappy photo ..... i am not a good iphone photographer!

Mike your tank looks so clean! I love your build. Also thank you so much for the ro and aggregate. I will be able to drop off your jugs later tomorrow. Mike(CrazyEyes) is going to fill them up tomorrow in the morning for another 20 to add. After I unload the water I can swing by.

Next time we come by, should have a couple of beers and enjoy the Florida weather!

Thanks for swinging by Mike and Joe (CrazyEyes/Planefanatic). It was great putting faces to names! Build going well as you saw. 4 weeks in and things appear to be going well. As soon as I see some calcium "uptake" I will be happy, but it is still pretty fresh.

And YES, next time we can sit by the pool and enjoy some beers for sure!
