Last of my reef equipment for sale (Apex, MP40es, Vertex RODI and more)

Hello long lost friends on this forum.

As many of you know my tank cracked back in April, due to time and finances I sold off all the livestock, the broken tank, stand and lights.

I kept the higher end reef equipment I had been using in hopes I would re-start a tank soon. It seems that is not going to happen, if ever. I am loving being tank free, and the savings (power mostly) has just been too great.

Maybe if I move to a State with cheap electricity I would try again, but that may be years away.

So, while it's worth something I am going to sell the remainder of my reef equipment. I'll update the thread with pictures and more details on condition later tonight when I get home.

Here's the stuff:

My Reef Creations CR1 - Calcium Reactor:
http://www.aquacave.com/My-Reef-Cre...r-P3790.aspx?gclid=COfw9JH0jbwCFa6DQgodBEcANA
- It was used about 3-4 years, has some acrylic hazing, but otherwise perfect. Comes with an Aqualifter as the feed pump.

Cost new = $350 = My price (with CO2 cylinder and brand new regulator) = $250 OBO (+$50 off if you buy the Apex with it)

VorTech MP40esW x2
- New $450 each - My price $300 each (OBO)
- Both were used for about 2 years

VorTech Battery Backup
- New $165 - my price - $100

Apex
- Base unit w Display, one EnergyBar 8, a PH probe and the Temp gauge (new = $499) = My price $399
--- I have a new PH probe in solution, but it's not lab grade, original Apex probes dried out
- Extra EnergyBar 8 Power Strip (new = $160 = My price = $100)

100gpd Vertex RO-DO (with charge pump, built in TDS meter, etc)
http://www.amazon.com/Vertex-Aquari...em/dp/B00H4BBL10/ref=pd_sim_sbs_petsupplies_6
- I used this maybe a year, still reads zero TDS as my water is pretty clean
New $ 330 - My Price - $250

I also have a skimmer (Bubble Magus, can't remember model, for approx 200gal tank, high end pump (needle wheel). I will post later tonight once I get some info and set a price.

I also have an acrylic sump, when I get dimensions I will post and set price.

I also have some heaters, LED light tube, some T5 bulbs and other reef stuff to go through and post, so check back...

I am located in Lawndale, which is about 3 miles SE of LAX. I am only home weekdays after 8pm, and on weekends. I will not hold anything unless paid in full with fees (Paypal).

PM me for details.

Thanks,
Mike Thibeau

Mike,
Sorry to hear that you are throwing in the towel. I know the freedom of getting away from the hobby, I took an 18 year hiatus myself. I don't think the saltwater ever leaves your system, I suspect you will be back. Enjoy your break.

Rob - the heaters are glass (Ebo-Jager I think) - I'll need to dig it out

Sorry everyone, I got really busy last night and didn't get time to look at the stuff and take pictures. On top of that my SCR thread was removed for some reason. I'll try to get that done tonight if I don't get stuck at work too late.

- The Vortech Battery backup is from late 2010. Not sure if that is the older or newer model.

- The Vortech pumps are the same vintage (I got them in September 2010, so I probably used them for 2.5 years or a little longer)

I will reply to PMs once I get home tonight, I also need to find out why SCR deleted my post (I never got a chance to see if there were replies).

I still haven't heard from you I am interested in buying your mp40. Please let me know if their still available

Its because that forum requires pics of items for sale.

I do have messages from the other board, I just got home, so busy at work and I had all this stuff packed away deep, still digging it out for pictures, and I have more stuff, possibly an auto top-off, A mag 7.5 return pump (I think?), the heater(s) I mentioned, HOB fuge, filter socks, tons of tubing, maybe a frag rack or two. A cool cooling fan.

Also saw your post on the other board and sent you PM for EB8 :) Thanks!

I got your PM, I will send you my info tonight.

They are available, sorry been busy, will reply to PM tonight.

How old is the APEX?

It is from mid-late 2010. I updated the firmware in early 2013.

I do miss the tank (when it looked good and was producing frags to offset the costs).

A few months after getting this one, the nut cracks sending the impeller magnet into the plastic creating this round scratch n burn. It works fine, but I am reducing the price on this one to $275.
