yeah, that was my main concern when we came up with the idea but my wife really wanted the bar so i gave in. i figured anything to have her not hate the tank. lol. anyway, i couldnt be happier with it. it's only 10" so i put a step stool right up to the ledge and i can reach most of the tank. as far as the back/middle...as you know that's no easy task anyway. standing on the stool, I can put my foot on the ledge lightly for balance and i can lean in there (but the canopy will have to be off).

Love the stand - I am also planning a bar on the front of my tank as well. I was also thinking of going narrow so I can get at the tank. Glad to hear the 10" doesn't get in the way.

It's funny that you made a batman/robin reference because when I first texted a picture of the salt to my brother I wrote "holy salt batman" and almost wrote the same in my post. Lol

but EVERYONE has been saying it lately... am i missing something. im pretty out of the loop most of the time. its drivin me crazy!
 
Thanks guys. I picked up the qt system from a fish store that was closing. It was more than what I wanted to spend but I figured it would be worth it in the long run. It actually has a third tier as you can see on the ground but I would have lost too much space using it.

I haven't heard anyone use that (including myself) in Probabaly 15 years. that's why I thought it was funny/random when I randomly said it, then yoccm did. I didn't know it was an epidemic. Do u at least know where it comes from? Old school batman?
 
upon further investigation i came upon this

apparently it was from the old comics and tv shows and robin would exclaim something Holy ____ batman! etc
i guess ppl are just referencing that and putting thier own "comical twist" in it. however i have no idea why this batman epidemic occured.
