Lawn Mower Blenny died :-(

Our favorite fish, the lawn mower blenny (Oscar) who has been with us since the last tank was found this morning on the sand being devoured by the CUC.........

He was our favorite fish, always out and about, and it sucks.. Such an awesome fish.

sorry for your lost. Is hard when you lose any fish or coral. I just lost couple corals because my heater broke

I lost mine last week as well Parents said they couldn't find the body anywhere though... Anyone know if my 6" maxi mini carpet could've maybe mistaken it for food if the lawnmower blenny decided to perch up on the carpet? The carpet is always well fed.

Oscar would never mess with the carpet, but he slept up against the clam mantles.. it was awesome...

What's unfortunate is, he started not only pecking algae off the rocks, but he would eat frozen mysis for the last while with everyone else!! This happened for, well as far as I can remember. I always figured that would be enough to keep him well fed, but it seems like he slowly starved to death and it wasn't enough to sustain him. I feel terrible that he suffered :-(

I was talking about my lawnmower blenny that went MIA last week as well. I never got to see how mine interacted in the tank after the carpet was added.

Do you think it could've been something else rather than starvation? Sounds like yours was pretty well fed.

That's a bummer. Mine would chow and then he'd come up to the front of the tank and take the biggest dump I ever saw a fish take. They like the long algae and once it's gone, only a matter of time unless they eat other things

yup, it is a bummer bigtime for us... He was always up with everyone else, eating mysis, rod's and everything. It was a sad day yesterday.. He was my Wife's favorite.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My LMB is my favorite fish in the tank, I don't know what I'll do what he swims into the big toilet bowl in the sky.

Sorry to hear about that! I love LMB's' . Not much color but great personality. I think you are right . When they become total meat eaters I think their bodies can only handle it for so long.

He was also fed algae pellets, and everything else I could to keep his herbivore side going, but when he got a taste of that caviar with the other fish, he never looked back :-(
